this can be talked to death. I back manfredo on this but like he said.. what can I do? they stopped it prematurely.. Just feel abd for the guy.. wasnt givin a fair go..

But he is 26 and will ocntimue to improve if working with freddie roach.. lots like larry merchant like to judge because he was on a reality show. Automatically think he isnt a fighter.. Anyways id prefer to see him back at 154 but i guess 168 is where he is comfortable. He is young and has good future ahead.

This reminds me of the Cotto fight where the result took away from a great performance. Because regardless of the stoppage, Calzaghe looked great. Even at the age of 35, his hand speed was still amazing.

that will be over looked though, cause the stoppage was abit early,if he hadnt stopped it then though, calzaghe would have carried on a relentless attack untill it was stopped

calzaghes confidence will have been so high at that point manfredo had no chance, just like lacy,he smelled victory and he went for it

Ref was not obligated to stop that fight. Fredo had enough wits to keep his hands high, while pushing back on the ropes and twisting at the hips and turning low.

Sure Fredo looked like **** not answering anything Zaghe was throwing, but the ref can't justify the stoppage based on the guy not defending himself.

To a degree you feel bad for Manfredo, but on the other hand the second round basically showed you what he was in for. If it wasn't for the third tound stoppage he'd have just been beaten between the corners for another five rounds and left for dead. He was too slow, too unskilled and simply not powerful enough to have much of a chance.

stoppages are based on a fighter not being able to defend themselves, thats the whole idea of a stoppage, isnt it?

Yeah for what a big a even was made of this we should have been able see Calzaghe pound some more on a guy who rose to prominence on a ****** reality TV show with coreographed fights considering all the money the alfredo sauce has made between this and that and not for boxing skill.
