Hes amassed that record on the way up to have recently become champ. There are lots of boxers who arent champs with unbeaten records like Kessler.
Joe has been champ for 10 years and is 35 and is still unbeaten. Will Kessler be unbeaten by the time he is 35 years old and people trying to take his title off him. It is harder to defend the title than to win it.

Well, you can't call someone a bum if you haven't seen them fight. I was skeptical of Kessler, but after seeing his last couple of fights, I can say he's certainly not a bum.

I'm guessing Kessler will be the most avoided fighter from 160-175 now. Besides Calzaghe, I don't see anyone who even wants to mention the guy. And he looked phenomenal live on HBO in his last fight. He looked almost too good for his own good, if you get my drift. But to give credit to Joe, I truly believe he would fight him without any hesitation. I think Joe has always been willing to fight anyone over the years- RJJ, Hopkins, etc. But Warren and the fact that none of those guys he was calling out over the years were too excited about facing him hurt his career.

The become undisputed by defeating Kessler would do wonders for his legacy. None of the other great super-middles could ever unify (Leonard, Jones, Toney, Benn, Eubank, etc etc) and for Joe to do it twice, possibly even twice as the underdog, would certainly make him the greatest super-middle in history, and most likely an all-time great if he can finish his career with another ****, like a top US fighter.

See, defeating Hopkins could go either way- if he dominates Hopkins, then everyone will point to Hopkins' age. If he wins a tough fight with Hopkins, then maybe he gets credit. If he dominates Taylor, everyone will say it's because Taylor moved up and wasn't used to the weight yet. However!! if Wright defeats Hopkins, which I think he will, then THAT is the fight (besides Kessler) that Joe should plead for. Joe is too agressive and active to lose to Wright. It's a nightmare matchup for Wright. And would be an extremely impressive win for his resume, given the success Wright's had over the past few years, and with a Wright win over Hopkins, Joe would essentially be defeating the top-ranked LHW on the planet. Huge. Kessler or Wright is where Joe needs to look.
