Oscar gave as all the fights we wanted.

And it only makes sense to negotiate the fight to your own advantage. I see nothing objecitonable in that at all. Cotto did not try to fight Malignaggi in a bigger ring. Hopkins was not coming down in weight to meet Wright, etc. etc.

My point is, if its your last fight and for obvious reasons he made a career out of beating Trinidad's past opponents and doing better against them than Trinidad did, why the hell not go out fighting RONALD "WINKY" WRIGHT instead of a light weight. Having PBF, a lightweight p4p best, come up to 154 to challenge him is not a classy move IMO. If he beats Floyd, which he should, would that make him the #1 p4p fighter? I bet it will.

He should fight Wright, but Mayweather presents a great challenge as well.

As far as the Trinidad thing is concerned, it's not like it's been Oscar's aim to fight formar Trinidad opponents. When you consider his weight and the time he came along, there was really no other choice.

              Here's my issue:

Oscar De La Hoya has stipulated just about every condition for this fight.

The size of the ring, the gloves(Mayweather MUST wear Reyes), the weight, and just about everything else that can be decided.

My question is; why doesn't Oscar just have his bodyguard kneecap Floyd on his way into the ring to be absolutely sure he'll win?.. Might as well.

De La Hoya has done everything and anything possible to rig this fight in his favor - and he's still the "bigger" man.

Too bad he's not the bigger man.

Should Oscar prevail he will have done so by playing God in the situation..

I have a very hard time respecting that.

Most of all his actions reek of insecurity.

              I have a special aversion to ***** ****, myself..

well DHL just want to exit boxing in good terms and to secure his legacy his last fight before he retire i think was a loss.

another thing in the Mayorga fight Mayorga let himself get hit too often and DHL pre-fight was like similing and talking with Don King so that is a bit suspsious to me even the KO didnt look like to be alright to me i dont know most of you guy.

and after the fighter he and Mayorga go to talk with each other another thing is that one of the Mayweather-DHL press conferance Mayorga was there laughing and okay with the sitaution.

and DHL is definitly a powerful man in boxing i think he will do anything to win and even in someways get gifted because love it or hate it DHL is the most gifted person in boxing i ever knowen in my whole life why not this fight too.

Hell, no for all the reasons you just stated. He beat a smaller man whom he dictated all the terms to even more advantage. I think he'll still have a shot at losing to PBF by UD.

He's a control freak, I dont think he deserves the respect all the nuthuggers give him, He got beaten by hopkins and mosely and now there his mates Why not fight them and secure his legacy, because he knows all he is good for is beating old time champs and average boxers? Golden Boy Promotion motto is "If you cant beat them join them" !!!!!

I agree with you in this one 100%. If DHL want to secure his legacy he should have fought Hopkins or Mosely.

Maybe if Mayweather beaten him he will be his partner in GBP :P

Oscar GPB promotion is on the stake

He's the Sugar Ray Leonard of this era. Remember when the 80's "Golden Boy" Leonard stipulated twelve rounds for his fight with Hagler, and loads of conditions with the gloves, etc? When you're the biggest name in the sport, you can ask for these things. At the end of the day, Hagler made more money than any other fight back then and Mayweather will do the same next month, so I'm sure they can handle it.
