The chances of Mayweather hurting his hands in the Reyes are better than they ever have been.

Oscar knows that.

He knows that smaller ring will make him have to work less.

He knows the weight.

And he wouldn't do the deal unless he coud control all of it.

oscar is a promoter now, not a fighter. he's a businessman, he's getting what he wants out of the contract just like he would be if it was his star fighter in the ring instead of him. also, i agree with PJ, maybe it's a little revenge for pbf talking trash about him. this won't be an easy fight for floyd, not like he's making it out to be, even a washed up dlh can still give anyone a good fight

Let me start out by saying I am not a fan of either fighter.

I could give a **** ass about DLH or PBF.


Here's my issue:


Oscar De La Hoya has stipulated just about every condition for this fight.

The size of the ring, the gloves(Mayweather MUST wear Reyes), the weight, and just about everything else that can be decided.

My question is; why doesn't Oscar just have his bodyguard kneecap Floyd on his way into the ring to be absolutely sure he'll win?.. Might as well.

De La Hoya has done everything and anything possible to rig this fight in his favor - and he's still the "bigger" man.

Too bad he's not the bigger man.

Should Oscar prevail he will have done so by playing God in the situation..

I have a very hard time respecting that.

I agree 100% with the title on your thread, he's the king of boxing right now, obviously not the best fighter out there but the most popular out there since Tyson in his prime or Ali. I don't give him credit at all for taking on a light weight, eventhough its a profitable fight so it makes sense for him not the fans. Oscar lives in PR and many say he's a very humble guy but I dislike him for the new era he brought to boxing on taking most profitable fights instead of taking the fights fans wanna see. Mayweather comes right behind him on this new style of picking fights. I hope they hurt each other so they cant come back, wouldn't pay a cent to watch the fight.
