If you had been a member of Boxingscene a bit longer I would expect better of you. These ******, derogatory threads about whichever fighters are seen to be the main competition to their favorite (is it Mayweather?) appear almost daily.
Gayweather this, Goldengirl that, Fatton the other.
Please go read some real threads that promote boxing discussion not this circle jerk over a fighter who threatens your worldview whatever that is.

Very few top fighters take on other major names at their peak. That's why the great fights stand out and are remembered. You can either blame them all (Hopkins, Mayweather, DLH, RJJ, Hatton, etc) for avoiding or you can just accept that is the way of things.
Hopkins is one of the few who is taking the odd major risk right now. Both Hatton and Mayweather COULD be starting to chase down a few unanswered questions as they are both fighting in potentially challenging fights against other names. But both will dissappoint if they don't continue in the same vein after this.
Name names that you think fighters should face but otherwise STFU with your partisan bull****.
Not a Hatton fan but bored of these ****** threads.

Typical narrow minded reply. You can't blame Lewis for the Tyson he faced, and the bottom line is that Lewis would have fought anyone during his reign. Also, in hindsight it is easy to say that Lacy is 'crap' but as you say he was the supposed 'next big thing' who was going to knock Joe out and the majority bought into it. Calazghe schooled him and plenty still don't give him praise.

Kostya was 35 years old when they fought. Yeah sure he was in his prime.

Who did DLH avoid? Just because I haven't been a member of boxingscene for as long as you doesn't mean I don't know **** about the fight game. I grew up around boxing. If you don't like the threads than don't read them. So **** you.

I don't like Ricky the Hugman...not because he's English, but for the same reason I don't like any fighter who's foes have all been hand-picked with little or no risk.
Roy Jones jr is another who pissed me off,no doubt Jones was a great fighter, but he always found ways to fight guys who posed no threat to him, while avoiding legit foes.
Also,Hatton reminds me of John Ruiz more each fight...and that ain't good.

As for the answer to the thread topic....maybe late in his career for his final payday.Until then we will be doomed to the Urangos of the world as he fattens his bank account.Good for him and his fans, bad for fans of boxing...

Maybe it is an English trait to never risk fighting a truly dangerous oppenent.
Looking at the biggest fights of all time, how many have had an Englishman involved?...that would be none.
There's too much money to be made in that part of the world for them, why get exsposed???

I will give Hatton this...he is at least now fighting in the USA,and maybe, just maybe...he will one day fight a top fighter in their prime. But I won't hold my breath.

It's different for every fighter. I'm talking about Kosyta, and he wasn't in his prime when he fought Hatton. His prime was 99 to 01.
