What is all this hype over Kessler? He hasn`t beaten anyone worth a dime.

Can someone explain to me?...I think he is just an average fighter feeding off of vacant titles and a lack of competition....

No. And I'll tell you why.

Sven Ottke got beat at least seven times in his career - Robin Reid, Charles Brewer, David Starie, Byron Mitchell, Glen Johnson, Mads Larsen - all beat him and got robbed. Kessler has won all his fights pretty convincingly.

Also, to say Kessler hasnt beaten anyone worth a damn is pretty ****ing ******. Anthony Mundine, Librado Andrade, Markus Beyer, Eric Lucas and Manny Siaca are all decent enough fighters.

I would still expect Joe to beat him, though.

I think it has to do with A LOT of people having hurt PRIDE and briused EGOs Because They were SOOOOO wrong about Calzaghe Lacy.. That they are grasping at straws trying to recover a little of what they lost..
As for the Danes.. well its obvious Like everyone else.. They are Homers...

In short Its not really about Putting Kessler up as much as its trying to BUild down Calzaghe and gaining some Lost presonal credibilty

Nobody in this thread has said that they WERE World Class, or that Kessler does deserve the hype he's received so far. So stop being so vitriolic.

Its likely a combination of what the two other posters have said so far. Its partially that Kessler has beaten decent enough opposition and quite easily that makes him a much more credible champion and an unfair competition to Sven Ottke. Its partially a lot of people on here looking for any way to shoot Calzaghe down. I'd wager that the majority of people who actually pick Kessler to win the fight against Calzaghe have not seen more than maybe 3 fights between the two champions.

I'm not sure that I agree with Welter_Skelter's views that all Danes are ****sexuals though. That's a stretch.

Kessler surprised me in his last fight.........he's consitent, throws great combos and has pretty good movement. It's alright to give a guy hype that is not afraid to trade and that is willing to fight instead of running or hugging throughout the whole fight

Kessler has shown that he's a solid fighter & in his last several fights he has beaten rated fighters in his division. Also he's owns half of the belts in the division as well. He's young, hungry, accurate, & technically very sound & seems hell bent on getting Cal in the ring to prove who's the best Super Middle. There's nothing wrong with that at all & he should be commended.
