Until he beats Wlad, we shouldn't embrace it. If he beats Wlad, then yes, love him or hate him, he is the champion, and his record would be legit.

Because as it stands, I agree with him. He's not doing Valuev any favors by fighting him, because he's not on his level and he'd just mark his record.

      Wlad is just too courteous.

Wlad has made it clear that he's hungry for a unification. Valuev has, as well. I think we'll see this fight sooner than we expect.

          Wlad vs Valuev

If Valuev is free of Don King after the April 14 fight, then there likely will be a unification match with Wlad, if Nicolay is willing. Unless Valuev beats Wlad, the record means nothing, since Marciano fought the best heavyweights of his time.

In fact Valuev should fight only top opponents until he reaches 50. No more journeymen like Beck or Barrett (Monte is a solid journeymen, but not a contender).

After Chagaev, he should fight Wlad, Vitali and Peter, then his breaking the record will be for real. But I doubt if he can beat those guys!

Yeah how those judges didn't give the fight to Ruiz or Donald is beyond me.

I thought both guys clearly beat Valuev. And what a job though huggy man did........because he was up against a giant.

If anything I won't question Ruiz' heart he showed that against Rahman where he was even on the cards but when Stone said: "You get in there....and you kick his ****ing ass Johnny" he came out and started whipping on Rahman's ass. That was pretty nice.

Well, needless to say I like Ruiz more than Valuev. and he's huggy bear but I'll at least give some credit to Valuev.

Again going 49-0 and then never coming back again to ensure you keep it are two different things. I do not see Valuev beating the record.

Exactly. The toughest competition he fought against he clearly got two gifts.

                      Sorry what?

As great as he was, the Rock fought a LOT of people who were long past it.
