He's beaten everyone they put in front of him and about 95% of the time hes beat them rather easy.

    The Questions!!!!!!!

    1. Do you guys think that Joe Calzaghe realizes hes fought "no one" of any significance in 42 fights ????

    2. Do you guys think that Joe Calzaghe should move up in weight to light heavy or higher(175 lbs) to challenge guys like Hopkins, Tarver,Winky???, Roy Jones, Chad Dawson, Paul Briggs, Adamsek, etc.?????

    3. Do you guys think that if Joe Cal retires without fighting Kessler or any of the big boys at 175lbs that his whole career was a farce????

    Thank You..now time to debate.
    1. He fought Chris Eubank, Robin Ried, Jeff Lacy and Omar Shieka that are notably top SMW but the problem with SMW is the timing of Calzaghe he fought people who are away of his era and part he is welsh where he have to fight and competit with the english to get recogizied by english first and then he have to fight and beat top engilish man and then he competiting with to come at a world class stage. He made the jeff Lacy fight looks easy that people though he was overrated.

    2. Maybe or maybe not but i think he will face Kessler before going there because after beating Kessler there is no competition for him there enless if Fronch hand Mundine have a super performance and call out Calzaghe. there was talks for him and Clinton Woods it would be exciting to watch. another thing that is working against Calzaghe is time and he will be fighting Kessler because the more time he takes it the older he gets and he is nearly in his mid-30s and near to his retirment planing and would be finding for big pay days

Also, nmuburner22, if you make a statement then you cannot determine whether your target is "owned" or not. That decision can only be made by someone else. I see no ownage in your post. Just bloviating.

        1. He obviously disagrees with that statement.
        2. After Kessler, yes.
        3. No. He will always be mentioned as one of the best SMW ever.

1.Joe seems to think that the Lacy destruction was sufficent enough to seal his legacy. So no,I don't think he entirely realizes.Although Joe has yet to have that "career defining" fight,he's beaten some pretty solid fighters IMO.

2.If he ever want's to take his career to that next step,Then yes I suppose he should up in weight and take on some of the "name" fighters.

3.No,I don't think his whole career would be a farce. But there would always be questions about him that were never answered.

But Joes career aint over. And questions are always asked anyway. Hopkins has done well to beat who he has beat, but the question will always be asked of Hopkins as to whether he would have beaten Joe as well. It doesnt matter that he beat Tarver. Could he beat Joe? Hopkins beat welterweights in DLH and Tito but he nev er beat any great middleweights. But i wouldnt say his career was a farce. Hopkins might not be the greatest middle ever. Joe is arguable the best supermiddle ever.
So people shouldnt be talking about farce and Joes career in the same sentence. He isnt retired yet and there is still work for him to do though.

First and foremost, Calzaghe has beaten plenty of significant fighters during his reign, but the jury will be out on Calzaghe until he faces Kessler, Taylor, Wright etc, and that's despite him beating Jeff Lacy.
I think it's obvious that Joe is past his prime now and i think it's a shame that he didn't get to face Michalczewski, Jones Jnr, Trinidad, Tarver, Ottke, Johnson, Taylor, Hopkins etc while in his prime, but many people seem to have the belief that it was Joe Calzaghe avoiding these fighters, which i don't believe was always the case.
With regards to the Manfredo fight, it is obvious that this fight was made to give Calzaghe more exposure in the States, but i think it is a mis-match. Personally i believe that Froch would have posed more of a threat, and a fight with him would have certainly generated more interest in Britain, but that seems to be off the agenda. In all honesty, at the age of 35 what does it matter fighting for further exposure? Calzaghe has 3, maybe 4 fights left... IMO those fights should be against the likes of Kessler, Taylor, and Wright. That's the only way he will raise his profile further in the States, as although Manfredo is a viable opponent, Calzaghe will not really gain great praise from boxing enthusiasts for beating him as they will say it was a mis-match, and if Manfredo happens to pull off the upset then people will say that Joe was past his best etc...

Aw, have you changed your avatar just for me?

Keane is indeed a legend, so is Quinn (and Clough...Sunderland's most prolific goalscorer). Quinny was on an EasyJet plane on the way back from the Cardiff match on Saturday and the plane refused to take off because a few fans were being 'rowdy'. Quinn vehemently denied any roudy behaviour had been going on and that the fans were merely being jolly and singing, but not offensive. As the plane was cancelled meaning that children, elderly fans and even some disabled fans would have to wait overnight to get a new flight home, Quinn decided to pay for a taxi back for all 80 people kicked off the plane. £8000 from Bristol to Sunderland.

Quinn is a walking good-PR machine.

I heard about that. nice gesture. £8000 us very cheap for the amount of good free publicity they will get for this, very shrewed,
I think clough was boros most prolific scorer too.
I had the pleasure of meeting the great man when i was a kid, and i dont care what any expert says about shankley, paisley, stein, fergusen and on, old big head pisses over all of them, would anyone else have the ability to win the Premier League with Forest or The Sheep, plus back to back european cup NO they wouldnt, not a ****in chance. Also got the sheep to semi final of european cup where they were, and it makes me cringe to say it, but they were proper cheated out of it.

I will change avatar back now, i dont like newcastle much since got bricked at an fa cup game in 88 i think. Cant fight with their fists the ****in geordies.
