or if the injury resulted in the knockdowns if they even occurred

If you're out of shape then you can be knocked down, especially in the heavyweight division.

Well, it did say it was 1 week before his scheduled fight so he wouldve been in shape, just saying.

I was there on the Friday it happened and was told what happened on previous day sparring which was I believe on Wednesday not Thursday as **** says. It was at Terry Clyburns pound for pound Gym not La Brae Gym. On Wednesday Butler wobbled Vitali so they pulled him out and put in Walker. Walker dropped him with body shot. Vitali said he twisted knee going down but still continued workout. On Friday the day I actually witnessed, Vitali had knee sleeve brace on but was able to spar with it. After about a minute or two Butler caught him with big shot to chin and dropped Vitali hard. when Vitali got up he said he hurt his knee worse going down. He stopped sparring. However next day ,I was not there, I am told he sparred with Ed Mahone. He then pulled out of fight next day claiming severe knee injury. For those that dont think this happened I would point out Vitali has his sparring filmed. If this didnt happen wouldnt Vitali camp release tape as proof when story first hit media in 2005? Also pictures of Vitali campaigning in Kiev for mayor were on internet next month after supposed injury yet pictures didnt show him with brace, cane nor was his campaigning seemingly hampered. You can believe this or not but it happened. Anyone at Clyburns can confirm.

...Well hell that just convinced me. Vitali is so indietructable that urban legends pop up all over the internet to try and disprove it.

Not at all, James Toney fought Jones in one of the biggest fights in the 90's and guess what the man was out of shape, this happens many times with Champions that gets over confident.

There are very few PBF and Hopkins in boxing that's come in shape in every fight.

But anyway none of us really know answer, I'm guessing here just like everyone else!

I dont buy it at all. where's film of this showing the knockdowns like we saw with page and tyson? I think if it happened it was probably from his leg already being hurt. doesnt make sense to me. taking bombs from sanders and lewis without head gear and then getting dropped in the gym from nobodies with head gear on? please,,,,seeing is believing

wow, lets give butler and walker the wgaf heavyweight championship of sparring titles (who gives a f***) big vit has never been knocked down in a fight, and i can guarantee if he ever does get knocked down, it will be ffrom a punch ten times harder than butler or walker could dream of throwing. What im saying is that even if he was hit with a big clean punch, something else caused him to go down , maybe he slipped, hurt his knee, couldnt brace himself with his knee, etc. but in general i think its safe to say nobody gives a flying f***
