Vitali has been knocked down three times in fights. He was knocked out by Oleg Maskev in amatuers and twice as kickboxer.Yes he was kickboxer before he was regular boxer. Butler and Walker not bums. Both National Golden Gloves Champs, Walker 2003,Butler 2004. Walker also made it to Olympic trials where he lost controversial decision to Jason Estrada. He beat undefeated Estrada as a pro. Butler is huge puncher. He has knocked down 27 of 29 opponnents he has fought. Example he knocked down Cornelius Ellis 4 times in 4 minutes, same Ellis who went distance With McCall ,Chambers(close majority decision) and Alonzo Butler. Raphael Butler weakness is only fair chin and sometimes underachieves but has lot of natural talent. Both men really big. Butler 6'3andhalf,250, Walker 6'4" and 245.

Vitali is a better kickboxer than most people give him credit for also

He's used to being injured, and taking punishment on the body. People also forget that's where most of his nagging injuries came from.

          It's important to note.

Vitali has never been knocked out with a punch. His stoppage losses in K1 were from leg kicks.....Pele Reid's repeated blows on him the most famous.

And Oleg Maskaev did not knock him out. In fact.....Vitali's corner threw in the towel because he wasn't following instructions congruent with the amateur system.

                Yeah, well. Hear say.

I was just pointing out that his stoppages in K1 were from verbal submission from constant lower leg kicks and that was Reid's defining win.......Vitali said he was tired of getting kicked in the leg and quit the fight. And don't call him a quitter.

Everyone quits in MMA it's too ****ing brutal to continue. Him quitting against Byrd is a different story however.

Does it worry me that two seperate men, sparring partners, were able to so badly hurt Vitali right before his retirement? Very much. Call it an asinine thing to bother me but ring rust and inactivity will be an issue when he steps back into the ring. Now we learn he walked away from the sport due to injuries that put him out because he was badly hurt by his sparring partners. No discredit to these two men but I don't see them as championship material. Being a National Golden Gloves winner is a huge credit to your skill- but it's still an accolade that bespeaks of good amateur credentials as opposed to true professional level skills. There's a big difference. Vitali may be making a mistake in coming back.

it not what you do in sparring is important but what you do in the ring.

they are just hyping up one of the Vital sparring partners.

anyway there isnt sparring WBC belt or something like is there?
