People actually think he defeated Robin Reid?

I saw that fight. It was a bad decision. I heard Glenn Johnson should have won his fight against Ottke (never saw that myself).

I think that the Reid fight was justified in the way that Ottke defended beatuifully, and neutralized the agression of Reid.

And Welter, don't come in here with that "He was penalized for punching" dialogue. It happened 4 times. Blame the ref, not Ottke. Sven did what was neccesary to win. Can he personally stop the ref?

That could be it.. I watched a few of his fights when I 1st moved to England on Eurosport.. I didnt even know who he was..
And I thought No wonder Americans laugh at Euro Boxers if this what passes as a champ.. Of course I know better now.. But still I think OVERACHIEVER is a great word for him..
Maybe its true.. he is just misunderstood.. But Boxing is pretty easy to understand..

Robin Reid connected far more than Ottke did. Slipping punches doesn't equal points scored. He still got hit more than he hit Robin.

If there was one fight to show what a bad decision looks like, I would say this was it.

That was 4 times too many.. Ottke should be ashamed to get a win THAT way.. as a pro boxer I think I would have walked out of the ring in shame..

The referee was also quite biased. Kept warning Robin whenever he landed a punch. Robin had no choice but to chase the fleeing Ottke. Those taps were nothing compared to the punches Reid landed on Ottke. That's why his eye was swelling. And Ottke knew he'd get a gift decision so that's why ran for most of the last few rounds. It was like a wolf chasing a rabbit.
