I see others alledging that Ottke would dare duck Joe? Sven wouldn't duck a bullet. Watch his fights. He's pretty damn brave. You guys think that they're gift decisions because of the bad that Germany has after the Abraham fight. Learn you history before labeling him.

I'm sorry but that is just a bunch of bull****. Ottke was a piece of **** who dependd on tame officials to win a lot of fights (his own private open scoring didn't help). He was a fraud.

This thread's gotta be a wind up but I don't mind, it's made me laugh!

Calzaghe would have beaten Ottke, probably inside the distance, any day of the week. Ottke was a good boxer, but not good enough to beat Calzaghe.

I saw Ottke-Robin Reid and the referee wouldn't allow Reid to him him! It was a farce. You couldn't get the decision against Ottke in Germany, why go there and risk that, and Joe wisely gave the fight a miss.

LOL this is the funniest /******est comment i've ever read on here...

1 - how is Ottke brave - he fought outside Germany ONCE in his entire career and that was in a country that borders Germany and speaks the same language.

2 - Ottke clearly lost at least 3 of his fights on points, yet magically won them.

3 - why are you telling people to learn their history when you know little/nothing about Ottke. if you did you'd know he was one of the most over protected, boring, fraudulant 'champions' to ever reign.

Once again this thread starter makes an obviously joke inflammatory thread and K-Nine idiotically goes and seriously agrees with him.

Joe probadly didn't want to go to Germany and get robbed like the majority of Sven's big name opponents.

Calzaghe feared Ottke that's a fact, because of the high chance that he would probably fall asleep in that fight

When has Floyd Mayweather ever fought out of his own backyard? Or Roy Jones Jr? Or Bernard Hopkins? Or Winky Wright? Or Jermaine Taylor? Or Oscar De La Hoya? Or Antonio Tarver? Or Zab Judah? Or any American fighter, really. And if you say they left their home city and fought somewhere else in America then guess what? So has Calzaghe. He has left Wales and fought in Manchester and Newcastle among other places, as well as going to the place that Roy Jones wouldnt go because he was terrified of being robbed - Germany - to fight a guy that only he had previously defeated. So don't give me that ****ing bull****, mate.

When you say "what Ottke did to robin read" you mean how he, the ref and the judges completly robbed read in one of the most disgraceful fights ever? Then yes Calzaghe stayed away from Ottke cus he knew he would get robbed as well.

Calzaghe actually was prepared to go to Germany and fight him, I believe Frank Warren offered him a **** load of money for the fight in Germany. Cos Joe wouldnt have had to have worried about getting robbed cos he would have knocked Sven Ottke the **** out, believe.
