What are your thoughts on JOSHUA CLOTTEY someday getting in the TOP 10 P4P??????

This is a guy that many will argue is still an undefeated fighter.

Arguable wins over Baldomir (he was DQ'd but he was winning up until then according to all 3 judges) and Margarito (People STILL think he wont the fight, even after he hurt his hands)

He fights Diego Corrales which has FOTY written all over it. A win would catapult him into some big name fights in the welterweight division.

Maybe a rematch with the winner of WILLIAMS/MARGARITO.

Maybe a rematch against Baldomir. Maybe a fight with Collazo or Cintron or Judah.

A win over any two of those guys, surely gets him a spot in the top 10 p4p.

    ur thoughts?

Will he even be able to get past Corrales?

I think he has a chance but I dont think weve seen him enough to make a fair judgment. I mean was the injury against Margarito a freak thing or is he one of those guys who are destined to just be good enough to come up short? At his best I think he can be like a poor man's Benard Hopkins. At his worst I think he is a N'Dou type of fighter. The Chico fight will tell us alot

thats a good point because in my head, i have the CORRALES fight being really close, but he'll get stopped in the end.

So maybe he's good enought to compete with the top guys, but not good enough to win.

I think even if he destroys corrales in 4 rounds or less, people will still get on him because Corrales is jumping up so far in weight. He'd have to beat a COLLAZO or a CINTRON to get the boat moving IMO

Clottey has all the physical tools to be great. He also has the skill, but he may be lacking mentally. He got frustrated against baldomir and started leading with his head. I think this is a great chance for clottey to get back on track and quick. Corrales is there for the taking, i dont think corrales power will follow him to 147, and he has shown to not have a good chin.

I agree that Diego's chin most likely will get him KO'd in what will be a war. I'd like to see him fight Cintron or Williams. Then Cotto. He beats Cotto, he is in the p4p

but welterweight division is DEEP. You have Floyd, Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Cintron, Collazo, Williams, Judah, Baldomir and even Hatton if he wants. alot of badass matches can and should be made

He is a good fighter in a great division! I think he is always gonna come up just that bit short. He will end up as a gate keeper i think

Joshua Clottey is good, but I feel alot of people are overrating him. He did well against Margarito and Baldomir, but then again, they are Margarito and Baldomir. Collazo, Judah, Cotto, and Mosley are far more gifted fighters than the aforementioned boxers.

yeah he is a solid guy, but that division is pretty tough and its gonna be hard for him to really break through in his own division let alone the P4P rankings. A win over Margarito would have maybe sent him on his way, but an unfortunate hand injury stopped that. I think he will have a good showing against Chico, but i think Chico will catch him in the later rounds and stop him.
