So when Calzaghe smites Manfredo's fat nose..

Are the haters going to deny that they actually gave Manfredo a chance of beating Joe, just like they did Lacy?

I mean, it is a bit pathetic to not give a fighter credit for a victory when you predicted the other fighter to win via upset, don't you think?

Don't expect Calzaghe to become the board favorite. He has plenty of fans here (Yanks, Pinoys, and Brit f.ags), and his populasrity is not going to grow. He's going to slap a few more bums silly and retreat to his sheep and you.

I know he'll never be popular on this website (atleast for the right reasons), but it gets a bit annoying when idiots like Manny_P say that Lacy's going to put a whooping on Joe, and after the fight he says that Lacy was a bum and Calzaghe needs to step up in competition.. WTF?

He is popular on this website, Shanus. Too much time has gone by though. For three months or so last year calzaghe's name was untouchable here. No one said a bad word about him. Hell Hatton had fewer haters then too. It's an impatient board, you have to just have had a big win to be popular here. No solid wins, people question those. Look at Taylor: he's fought Hopkins, Hopkins, Wright, Ouma, now Spinks the toughest string in boxing by far but don't tell that to anyone here, he's fought two 154lbers in a row he's a paper champ.

I resent the bit about Taylor. That sap Dibella is ruining his career. The wins over Hopkins/Wright were good but were they solid or convincing? I don't think so. Everyone knew Ouma had no chance at beating Taylor. I am all for the best fighting the best. My favorite fighters of all time are guys like Duran and Hearns who fought the best and took risks. They lost a few but these guys were great in my eyes. Because they were not all about the money.

So true. People seem to forget he fought Hopkins twice then went straight to the number one contender. How many times does that happen?

Spinks moving up to fight Taylor is just like Taylor moving up to fight Calzaghe, there's nothing wrong with it.. and I actually give Spinks a huge chance.

Don't get me wrong, he IS popular on this website.. but for the wrong reasons, yes after his win over Lacy he was being praised for a few months, but since then more and more people have found reasons to nit pick and hate.

"Ok, so he's fighting Manfredo Jr.. let's hate on him for it, what? Chad Dawson just beat Adamek? Is he American? Wow, let's put him in our top 15 P4P".. I may be the one nit picking by making this thread, but there's more than just a select few that are ruining any Calzaghe thread that gets made, there's a handful of people.. it may not seem that many considering this website has 60,000 other posters, but when all of them jump in every single Calzaghe thread that gets made, there's a problem.

And I think Manfredo COULD win. It wont happen though.
