I agree with you on tyson,,,,but I dont think larry holmes had the power to beat wlad. holmes would have someone who could jab with him and I think wlad would have overpowered him. lewis and tyson would have posed problems for wlad becuase of there punching powerTyson was a different fighter in the 80's. He actually trained & threw combos back then because by the 90's he stopped doing ALOT of things that made him so dangerous. WK would have to go through a type of hell for that he's never experienced in his career in getting in the ring with the 80's version of Tyson. I agree with you on certain points but you left out one fighter in the 80's that I think would beat WK & that's Larry Holmes.Comment

I'm not completely sure why Wladimir has such harsh detractors among boxing fans. I mean he is fairly eloquent for a man who knows English as one of his four main languages, he seems humble enough, and his offensive technique is extremely good. Klitschko possess a wide array of offensive arsenal- a good right a solid jab, his left just put out Ray Austin- he has skills. Some guys loose their steam when their heavyweight invincibility wears off- like Tyson. Once he was seen as a flawed fighter, as every fighter is in some way, he crumbled mentally. Wladimir had to suffer the humiliating losses he did and come back. He has shown weakness and rebounded. He even wants to step back into the ring to avenge one of those losses. That takes a tough mentality.
I think he may seem a bit too human for some people. Too humble, too flawed- not enough of a boxing bad-ass. He's a good looking heavyweight who attracts people to the sport. If you don't think he does you're crazy- I've been in a room of a half dozen non boxing fans who loved Klitschko. He's been delivering KO's consistently...doing it in good fashion, and coming back from his losses.
If he continues to win, keeping his part of the heavyweight crown and maybe even unifying the belts, even partially, he will be in the hall of fame. His new trainer Emmanuel Steward will help him use his size and strengths to overcome his flaws, too, and craft a more perfect boxing machine.
In short- I like him. I'm a fan of boxing more than I am of particular fighters but I do like Wladimir Klitschko. I guess you could even call me a fan. I wouldn't say that about just any boxer.Comment

Wlad will never be feared like Mike Tyson was in his prime. Wlad is too vulnerable and been sparked a few times by guys he was heavily favoured to beat.
I rate Wlad as a good boxer who can punch as well, he's got the height and reach to do damage from distance. He has the right to be ranked no.1 HW today, I suppose. If he unifies a couple of the belts at least and goes unbeaten for an extended spell like Lennox Lewis, he'll have the right to be in the HOF legitimately. He's pretty good, but all time great? He's got a bit to do yet.Comment
