It would be a much more open fight, at this point I would actually have it 50/50 because I was very dissapointed with PDL and I haven't seen Bautista versus enough of a quality opponent to justify him being such a heavy favorite. He's fighting an Argentinian guy next who has a good record, but they tend to be very padded from that country. Anyway I think after tonight I see Bautista as having a better chance but not as being a favorite because he WOULD take some clean head shots.

he outpunched gerry... the volume of punches thrown was ridiculous... props to PDL though... eventhough with his crude technique, i think he deserved the nod... a match-up with Rafa would be suicide for him though...

i knew his power is overrated because of the Sod fight i keep repeating that Sod put whole of his body into the punch and DeLeon coutered with whole of his body to the chin. that is why it looked devasting KO anyway Sod fought him trhe first and stood 12 rounds

Those who booed didn't like his style, If Penalosa would have fought that style and outboxed PDL you wouldn't be complaining. Penalosa had a good showing but he was outboxed by a guy who was thought to be 1 dimensional, he's more versatile than we thought, give him credit. He won the fight.

PDL won cuz he was the busier fighter but in no way PDL outbox Gerry. If outbox as in technical boxing, its for Gerry. But if u mean outhtrew punches, then its Ponce.

In boxing, you try to win this match and look good in the next. He did what he had to do to win the fight. Gerri wasn't going anywhere and was taking everything PDL could throw his way. PDL adapted and made the decision to just win the fight and be happy with a W.

BTW, I had PDL winning 119-109. I thought Gerri only won round 2.

I don't care if a fighter connects at a higher PERCENTAGE, PDL was still connecting MORE shots per round and that's how you decide who wins a round: the fighter who inflicts more damage on the other fighter wins.

This is the easiest way to decide who wins a round: if you had to switch positions with one of the fighters for that round, which one would you rather have been? That's the guy who won the round.
