JMM won by 2 points if the knockdown wasnt counted. Barerra was landing a lot of jabs too. Marquez landed harder shots more often, and got of his combinations first. Still eventhough Marquez dominated that whole 7th round it should be 9-8 Barerra.
Did Marquez win????

i had marquez winning by two rounds but that is going by not counting the knockdown, had that been marquez still was up a point on my card. but overall i think that the miss call on the knockdown was messed up and that barerra got screwed, then agains i thought juarez beat barerra in their first fight so if the call stands i guess you could say that things are balanced in the respect.
overall the scoring by the judges was close to being the worst i've seen. the ponce de leon fight was correct to a certain extent, but Dhop vs Forbes was a travisty, even hopkins corner was saying he needed a KO to win, ploying with him to go for the KO because he was behind, what ever fight the judges saw was beyond me. very bad representation of the nevada commission and boxing.Comment

THANK YOU.
That's what I'm saying.. But that's because I filtered my choice through the actual circumstances and factors involved.
Barrera barely initiated. ****ing barely..
He was still brilliant, and he was the better man in the intial..
That means something to me.
Much respect to the Great Marco Antonio Barrera.

I could see the fight going for jmm or barrera. Judges and the ref were all idiots.
But honestly marco did need to lose a point for hitting a man while he was down. Point being taken away is ok there. Rules say when a fighter hits the floor (slip or knockdown) you can't hit any more, there is no warning needed to take points away. (Note jmm was also hit while on the floor in his 3rd knockdown againts pac, pac lost no points)
But that's also a knockdown so that should of been a 9 8 round. But jmm did have a good round besides being dropped. I don't know if I'm allowed but I made that a 9 9 round.
Over all I think I had it 113 114 for marco, but some rounds could of gone either way, I can say a close victory for jmm is decent scoreingComment

You know, I think it was a close fight. But the fact that the judges made several bad calls during the night, and that the margin was so wide in favor of Marquez- I have a bitter taste in my mouth. One judge only gave a round or two to Barrera. Insanity. The scoring was uniformly poor.Comment

I thought JMM won a close but clear decision tonight. The round 7 should've been 8-7 to Marquez, Barrera scored a beautiful KD but Marquez delivered a can of whoop ass not to mention that really cheap shot of Barrera that could've been a DQ. I can't wait for the rematch...Last edited by comepana; 03-18-2007, 12:19 AM.Comment

ou have to take it from the champ/legend
Tough call between 2 tough great Mexican fighters. I felt a draw or spilt. The judges cheapen the Fight. No way was is it by the margin they called it.I could see the fight going for jmm or barrera. Judges and the ref were all idiots.

Barrerra controlled the action, but Marquez was the agressor and made it an action fight. I wanted Marquez but at the end, I felt Barerra should have kept his title. Oh well.... Rematch!Comment
