wow, this wold very interesting and potentially a slugfest. Also, it would answer a LOT of questions.

I thought Gatti was sceduled to fight Paulie...or at least rumored. This fight sounds better than that imo.

I doubt that gatti wants to fight chavez jr...he wants to leave the sport winning his last fight...eventhough chavez is still green ...gatti is a c fighter and would easily get the beat down from the tall chavez...

If Gatti is a C level fighter @ 147 what does that make Chavez Jr?

imo gatti is about to retire meaning it's a farewell fight,
chavez jr. is considered the next world champion, a loss for either fighter is not good especially for chavez jr.
gatti should get a much easier opp. just to get the win,
and chavez jr i dont think he is ready yet maybe with 3 more fights

Both camps think it's a winnable fight. Gatti, making it his farewell fight of course thinks he can KO the still very green Chavez (he never had an amateur career). And the Chavez' believe Gatti is there for the taking; you never really know with Gatti. He's lost to Manfredy, Robinson x2, Baldomir none of which are considered very good. He's always in these do or die situations, but he's still very dangerous and experienced. This makes for an intriguing fight & that's why HBO wants it, considering this is all true. It will sell and in the end I think Chavez wins his first meaningful fight with a UD decision in which he finds himself coming off the canvas & boxing his way back to a win.

Gatti was never great and now he's far from what he used to be. Let the guy go already in peace!
yea i have to agree plus alos gatti had sum fits he could have won in the past but he let them slip away like that carlos fight. who knows. but chavez jr def win over gatti

Chavez has been basicaly fighting bums and Gatti is a huge step up in terms of competition and im pretty sure chavez hasnt faced anyone who hits as hard as Gatti even if Gatti doesnt have true WW power
