I just read this on boxeomundial.com. Here is the article.......
Chavez Jr. Camp Says Yes To Big Bout Against Arturo Gatti!

HOLLYWOOD, FL.--This one will surprise promoter Kathy Duva, manager Pat Lynch and Arturo Gatti. But the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. camp is interested, very interested, in having their son of the Mexican ring legend in the opposite corner on July 14 when warrior Gatti makes what is supposed to be his fistic farewell (on HBO),
I don't possibly see how HBO could pass this matchup up. Imagine JC himself sitting at ringside cheering his son on against the fading but still dangerous Gatti.
***ish jolter Dimitriy Salita wanted to be Gatti's opponent but HBO rejected him. So promoter Lou DiBella asked if the premium cable network fight buyers would accept Bronx prospect Edgar Santana as Gatti's foe. Santana manager Ernesto Dalles also signed off on the match, But HBO did not bite.
"I know that Fernando Beltran (Zanfer, based in Tijuana) wants the Gatti fight. He feels that JC Jr. is ready for this kind of a test and to have it in an HBO main event would really lift young Chavez's career. The fighter also wants the fight and so does Papa. Now Beltran has to convince Todd DuBoef and Bob Arum at Top Rank that this is the right move."
Gatti-Chavez? You must admit it has a special ring to it.
Interesting fight I guess. Gatti could very easily win this but *** it I give Jr. a chance. Gatti probably hits 50x harder than anyone Jr. has fought though. *** it, props to Chavez Jr. for being willing to take this fight.
Call me crazy bit im saying this. If Chavez Jr. can take Gatti's punch, he will win. He likes to fight on the inside and will drag Gatti into a brawl and bust him up with his accuarte punching and good combos, only if he can take his punch that is.
