    It's a weird double standard.

Yank: Fighter A (European) ducks the best fighters and won't leave his back yard and fight in America!

Limey: But Fighter B (American) has never fought outside the US at all!

Yank: Why should Fighter B leave the US and fight in Europe for less money?

Limey: Er... why should Fighter A leave Europe and fight in the US for less money?

That's what it amounts to. Calzaghe is a big name in the UK. He can sell out fights in Britain with ease. Moving to the US means essentially starting over for Joe. Hatton is a little different. Named as the Ring's fighter of the year in 2005 gave him a tremendous boost when it comes to US recognition. Calzaghe is recognised in the boxing world as a real danger (to anyone around his weight). To casual US boxing fans he's just a "protected overrated slappy english (sic) bum". So he would essentially have to fight for far less money against far inferior opposition in front of small numbers of fans in order to get recognition in the US. He doesn't really have to do so.

Well just wanted to say that I'm not a Calzaghe fan; not British; not Irish; not European... (you get the point) and I do really like Manfredo... Still, Joe Calzaghe is at a different level... It would be a huge upset if Peter would win but I really don't think he stands a chance... Wish him well but I just don't think he has the talent needed to beat Joe...

Bika gives any fighter from 160-175 problems, and I'd probably pick him to win/lose a close decision to Manfredo.

Bika is a tough, dirty fighter with a solid chin, he would take most middles and super-middles the distance.

excuse me but if he fought bernard hopkins in las vegas he would make way more money and garner way more worldwide respect and recogntion than beating up 10 sakio bika and peter manfredos in his backyard.. so the question is does calzaghe care?

calzaghe has given no indication that it is important to him to establish a real legacy by beating other high profile fighters. jeff lacy came to england to fight him, he should show some sack and return the favor by coming to america to fight someone with a pulse

                    ANYBODY, can't you ****ing read?

He's a dirty, dirty fighter. A real dangerous sparring partner and an even more dangerous as an opponent, Kessler's crazy for picking him to spar with.
