exactly. Like I said, Lacy's last fight (where he got a gift) proved that Calzaghe's win over him wasn't as big as the English people thought it was. Calzaghe is still a unproven slapper in my book and others too.

Calzaghe fights opponents that are unknown by anyone outside of their own country

Lacy was the supposed next best thing in America, and true, maybe he was over hyped, but he still looked very good up until the Calzaghe fight, and it was still an outstanding performance from Calzaghe in a fight that not many gave him a chance of winning! That you cannot argue with.

Think about what you're saying fella, I'm sure you spoke some sense about Mayweather despite your obvious allegiance but this post goes some way to undoing all that good work!

Calzaghe is the no.1 at SMW. He beat Mitchell who was absolutely robbed against Ottke to 'unify' first time round. He beat Lacy to unify the second time round, and has beaten some top contenders oevr the years (sheika, woodhall, Reid).

Noone is more frustrated than me that Calzaghe isn't fighting the best in the 160-175 range, but as for fighting outside the UK - why the **** should he when he's the champ. kessler or anyone else who wants to be SMW champ should come to a sheep **** filled campsite in Wales and fight Joe there.

How many times did RJJ fight outside of the US. How about Hopkins? Toney?

it's not as big like many of his fans hype it to be. It's a good win, not a great one. Like I said, he cannot sit around thinking he's the best after he beat Lacy. He's gotta do more. His last fight wasn't that impressive neither.

IMO it was a great win, and IMO Calzaghe is the best SMW in the world! Yes, i would have preferred to see him in with Kessler, or even Froch for that matter, but it isn't always that simple.

well then you have to realize that at his long carreer, he only has 1 "great" win and it came at later end of his career. This guy doesn't seek out REAL BIG fights. He needs to fight better comp simple and plain.

OptimusWold, all i'm saying is that theres alot of good competition out that he could fight but he doesnt instead he takes on contender runner up Manfredo, I get what your saying Kessler or anyother super middle weight contender should go too wales if he wants too take on number 1.
