You guys dont realise something, the guy is loved in Europe. IMO the hate towards Wlad is of similar nature as hate that existed towards guys like Johnson, Ali and Lous. He is a breakthrough athlete and people are just not used to seeing a smart, good looking white guy that is also a great humanitarian to be a dominant champion, just like they were not used to Johnson ko'ing all the white guys, Louis being a great champ nd a class act(with the fluctating belief of that time that all blacks are savages) and Ali being a trash talking showboating but still great champion. People are simply not ready to accept it.
The reason why is for another topic. But notice something, there way more white american wlad haters than african american haters

I meant his own fans that overrate him. ''Nuthuggers'' as they are called around here, can create a lot of haters.

I thought that could be the only reason, but you're proving otherwise with your nationality stuff.

I suppose the bigggest reason is because he's not an American. If he was, then he would be loved.

No that has nothing to do with it. It's the color of his skin.

It's threatening to have a White HW Champ, everyone knows that. There was a thread a while back, and everyone started agreeing with Nash about the same subject. Nash (BLOODSHED) openly stated there was a problem and he didn't feel comfortable having a White HW Champ, several concurred, and then the "Oh he's a White hype" ensued. It's simply racism.

I've noticed that if a European fighter shows weakness at any point it's always "he's a coward, he'll never amount to anything" but if an American fighter does the same it's just "he had an off night, he has asthma" etc etc

With the American fighter, everyone wants to believe it's a temporary problem or a somehow excusable condition but with europeans it's always that they're rotten to the core and absolute **** and don't belong in the ring.

If a european is successful, it's because he's on steroids, or he's freakishly huge and has an unfair advantage because of his size (in the case of tall fighters). If an american is successful, it's through hard work and having the heart and grit that the europeans lack.

Obvious double standard going on, similar to the early 1900's when white reporters were quick to write off black fighters and take it easy on the white fighters, even if they exhibited the same traits (a defensive white fighter was clever while a black fighter of the same style sneaky and underhanded).

I don't think it's purely a race issue because people gleefully swing from Briggs's nuts and **** on Williams even though they are pretty similar in talent and accomplishments. European fighters, or hell just foreign fighters (Miranda) in general can never do right.

You are supporting my point there, americans are just not ready for a white european heavy weight champ

                    I think that's totally different.

You can't compare a combat sport to basketball. They aren't congruent....the HW Champion is the most respected figure in all of sports in the U.S.A. Not to mention, Nash has never really showed consistent weaknesses in his game that would even further demean his ring character. Like the basic fact that Wlad is a White guy who people have seen get knocked out. NOBODY schools Steve Nash, it's the opposite way around.

Times have changed since twenty some years ago when Cooney/Holmes fought and where the majority of the public was in favor of having Cooney as their champ but it didn't work out that way. That fight was easily the start of the "White Hype" because the Heavyweight division has been dominated by Blacks since then. Through the evolution of hip hop culture, Mike Tyson, Ali-re education, Classic flashbacks of Liston, Louis, Foreman, Holmes, Norton and all the great Black Champs people have disregarded the idea of a White guy becoming Champion based solely on assosciation.

If you're White, you're not supposed to be the HW Champ.

i dont get the nationality ****...

im american, and i have always liked wlad and vitali cause they are good, i dont give a flying **** if theyre from Mars... the majority of the guys i like arent americans....the only american boxers i really like are Johnathon Banks, Kelly Pavlik, paul williams and Chad Dawson.... i guess technically juan diaz is an american too

for my money though the guys i want to see are Klitschko's, maskaev, mormeck, calzaghe, kessler, miranda (against pavlik), cotto, darchinyan..

i dont see the rickey hatton appeal though, dont enjoy his fights one bit

its funny, take basketball for example, dirk nowitzki sure as hell isnt an american, in fact look at the way boxing fans deride germay as scandalous with illegit fighters being created.... well basketball fans dont hate on nowitzki cause hes not american, they see the guy is great, and respect him for his ability, his nationality is only mentioned around olympic time..... why is is it that boxing fans create such false pretenses for hating someone?
