Possibly because of the star power generated by being in Rocky, but he is also a personable name fighter who has made a great deal of connections in the broadcasting business. As you may recall, he started all of this business with the fighters guesting on FNF.

Why not? For the same ****ing reason I didn't want to see Tarver in Rocky. I don't know about you but I don't want Antonio "Legend Killer" Tarver to be the emissary to the sport when its popular is waning. He's not as smooth as other boxers. He isn't the most attractive...****...he sure isn't the best. Why would we want TARVER representing our sport by being the first boxer on network television in years? For shame.

I'm with you. Tarver is a good attraction and it certainly won't hurt the sport to see him and Elvir on ABC.

If people think the fight isn't exciting or there isn't a KO it will hurt the sport. I don't think we realize that with many people you only get one shot. I've had friends over for fights, which they didn't like, and they've never wanted to waste time watching another....where as some have seen a KO or an exciting guy like Arce fight and get hooked.

I agree with that and thought of that as well. Perhaps Tarver and Elvir will realize this and make it more exciting for the people watching.
And theres always a chance ABC will do this sort of thing again.

I think it's dangerous for the sport to get an opportunity like this and have it wasted on a 'Maybe Tarver will show up'. Let's put someone in their who is certain to be exciting. One of our most intense fighters like Arce...or a heavyweight with a killer KO punch. ****, it'd be a better idea to sell Valuev-Klitschko to ABC than this.
