DLH is correct. Sultan will be the man to beat for a brief period of time. The only knock on him is he's had a late start. I don't care if he drew with Austin. When most fighters have an off night these days they lose, usually by knockout. Sultan gets a draw. Not too shaby.Comment

yea,,,,I think he learned his lesson about coming in over 10 lbs overweight. it almost cost him. briggs wont be so luckyDLH is correct. Sultan will be the man to beat for a brief period of time. It's not so much the ten pounds, but the fact that he clearly didn't train hard for Austin. He overlooked the guy, let's just face it. The number one rule in boxing next to "protect yourself at all times", you never look past the guy in front of you. Oh well, you live and learn.
He could have come in twenty lbs overweight on a James Toney diet and performed better than he did IMO.Comment

Ray Austin is possibly the toughest opponent that Ibragimov has faced, and perhaps Ibragimov is a better fighter than the one you saw against Austin, but i think that De La Hoya is talking nonsense, but then he is the co-promotor of Ibragimov! I think it was more a case of Panama Lewis underestimating the threat of Austin... That said, Ibragimov showed heart getting up from a 10th round knock down, and he did floor the much bigger man. It's not so much the ten pounds, but the fact that he clearly didn't train hard for Austin.
