Edison Miranda is a middleweight ricardo mayorga

a ****ty boxer with good power, taylor would probably shut him out 12-0..and if taylor fought like the taylor pre hopkins 1, (more aggresive) miranda would be knocked out

I wouldn't ever go as far as to call Miranda a good boxer, as far as technique goes, but I wouldn't downgrade him to Mayorga's level. I see more movement and angles from Miranda. Yes, looping punches are not foreign to him, but he also has more skill than Ricardo. I'd say he's a rough, flawed fighter...but has more basic ability than Mayorga.

well for being a ****ty boxer he has done pretty well for himself. He needs to beat Pavlik and then he will be fighting Taylor. Miranda has the heart and determination to be the champ. His boxing skills will only get better and once he faces Taylor, he will give Taylor the toughest fight of his life.

Miranda is a lot better then Mayorga ever was. And Miranda is still very young.

I think when Miranda hits his prime skills, he would have the arsenal to beat a Taylor. Taylor doesnt like power. He hasnt faced a guy with a good punch in a long time.

And Mirandas punches are a lot shorter and harder then Mayorgas, and he sets them up as well. Mayorga just jumped in a threw.

Miranda has better technique than Mayorga ever had. I think Miranda gets far too much criticism for his technique, or lack there of. Its really not that bad.

Exactly. He boxed very well against Green. Kept his right hand up to defend against that wicked left hook and danced around using the long jab. Mayorga is not in the same ballpark as Miranda.

And the biggest factor that you must take into consideration is Miranda's aggression and heart. He is like an animal in the ring; The 'Panther' comes out of him. The fact that someone may have superior skills goes out the door when you are in the ring with someone like Miranda. He is unique in this way, and will cause problems for anyone with skills, even as good as Winky. I'm not saying he is ready for Winky and would beat him, but there is no doubt in my mind he would give Winky a lot of trouble.

I just don't see how Miranda is a credible opponent for Taylor or Winky. He's probably the 3rd best middleweight out there, but he's so far behind the other two it makes you wonder who the future of the division is going to be. Especially with Taylor talking retirement in a couple years (which is beyond ******)

While Miranda's technique isn't what any unbiased analyst could ever call good, it certainly is better than Mayorga's by a noticeable amount. Also, it is important to note that Miranda really cares about winning too. He is far more dedicated than Mayorga ever was, and that will help him so much.

Well; i think Miranda is better than Mayorga, but the comparison has merit.
