it seems like every major fight casamayor is in is decided by just a point or two. the last two corrales fights, the castillo fight, the kid diamond fight, the freitas fight...

joel does a lot of subtle things in the ring which are often overlooked by people in my opinion. i didn't see anyone except for maybe fix acknowledge his body punching in that kid diamond fight...everyone just saw the quick right hand from kid diamond.

i think the only fight i have ever had casamayor REALLY losing was the second corrales bout.

Yeah..theres about 5 of us on here. Not many true boxing fans down here and even less that are knowledgeable; I been reading your posts since you joined and everyone has impressed me wit your knowledge, so mad props to you. I was living in South Miami, right across from Dadeland Mall but just moved back over by country walk, across from Metro Zoo this week. You go to the fights down here (Miccossuke, Hard Rock)?

I have no problem with someone giving that fight to Casa, I believe Castillo squeaked it out but again it was razor thin.

This fight too me was a classic example of a fighter (casa) possibly winning the fight but CLEARLY losing the war.

Normally you see El Cepillo bitchin up a storm after he hears the decision, after they announced JL the winner you didnt hear too much from him, he was too busy trying to stand upright.

I think Joel was grossly underrated, i dont know if he still has it thats why i said was. But Joel has been a very good fighter, I think he needs to get rid of that chubby kid that translates for him, makes him seem like a really bad guy when he really isnt.

That translating was so flagrant it was something like,

Reporter: Joel how do u expect your fight with Corrales to go?

Joel: Muy bien pienso que va a ser dificil pero le voy a ganar (Good I think its going to be tough but I'm gonna beat him)

Interpreting bastard's words: Im gonna beat him its gonna be cake. He aint ****; ill kick his ass with one hand behind my back.

          And this isnt an exageration!!!

Yeah, I've seen that guy, He's a prick. He starts mouthing off as if HE is Casamayor. In fact, I remember when ESPN televised Casamayor's last fight before their rematch, they had Corrales in the studio and interviewed them on split screen. It got to the point where they would ask Cepillo a question and his translator would answer for him...WITHOUT EVEN TRANSLATING! As if they were asking HIM the question. The guy is the typical groupie riding on Cepillo's back and I bet once Joel's career is over, he wont ever hear or see him again.

A good boxer, tricky and dirty, fairly slick, decent power.

He's also close in his defeats.

His boxing skills are good although not great..let's not forget he got outboxed by Diego Corrales in the rematch, as well as Popo for the first few rounds.
