Look, don't get me wrong, Pea was out his league when he fought Trinadad. He fought a fight he couldn't win. But c'mon my dudes. Trindad would have got a EDUCATION if he fought a early 90's Pea. I'm not discrediting Trindad for his victory. Smart managment. But Tito vs. a early 90's Pea... holy ****. Boxing lessons for sure.

Its not like Tito waited a few years for the guy to throw his career down the drain with drugs to fight him. Lets not forget two fights before that he went up against Oscar in what many said was a robbery. You wanna know more? few fights before that we went up against another Puerto Rican, Wilfredo Rivera, who schooled Sweet P twice and both times got robbed, first fight Rivera just toyed with him and beat him to the punch all night, second was closer.
My point is, its not the man's fault Sweet P wasn't in his prime when they fought, still Sweet P would've knocked a lot of guys out that night, he ran into the harder puncher that night with a dumb plan, no plan B and didn't work out.
Rivera SCHOOLED Whitaker both times? Wow, talk about a gross overstatement...

The first fight was CLOSE and could have gone either way. The 4-5 point card was terrible, but Pea was in that fight the whole way. This was probably the first fight where you could tell that Pernell's partying was catching up to him and his skills were starting to diminish.

The second fight was competitive, but I can't see anyone really scoring that one for Rivera. Pernell beat him to the punch, dropped him bad, and outfoxed him in over the majority of the fight. I scored that one 115-112 for Whitaker...he clearly won 7 rounds of that fight. How did you score that fight? I'm very interested.

I understand someone may have bothered you with what they said, but saying Rivera "schooled" Whitaker twice is just silly.

Also, Trinidad should get credit for beating up on Whitaker. It's a coked out Whitaker after a year and a half layoff, but Trinidad did nothing but pound on him all night.

You just spent 3/4 of your argument in what you think its "silly"? Talk about someone bothering you with what they said.... My opinion is that Rivera schooled him the first time, a lot closer the second time around, maybe didn't school him second time around, I watched that fight twice nearly 10 yrs ago couldn't remember all the details, happy now?
Getting back to the subject on your last statement, it was a coked up Whitaker, I've been saying that all along, is that Trinidad's fault? As a Sweet P fan myself, I think Sweet P maybe could've beat Tito while both were in their primes, but there's no way of knowing that, sure as hell Tito had a puncher's chance, we can only comment on what did happen.

I was just pointing out that saying "Rivera SCHOOLED Whitaker twice" is ridiculous. Just hope you understand that. If you watched the fights so long ago maybe your memory is a bit fuzzy...no? Schooling would be what Wright and Hopkins did to Felix.

Yep, Trinidad beat up Pernell. I wasn't talking about what Pernell could have or would have done to Trinidad in his better days....who knows.

You tend to remember fights outcome and then what happened through out the fight. I do remember the outcome, the commentators remarks and the opinion of the general public, lots who agreed with me. My memory might be abit fuzzy, but I'm sure about what i've just said. Bringing up Winky and Bhop makes me think not only were you upset about my post but that I hurt your feelings as well, sorry if I did, I'll leave it at that.

Hey, both of you are right. None of us will ever know. I know this... Pea, would in his PRIME, would have took everybody from 140-154, to class. Southpaw with some head movement? Sneeky hook? Ask Buddy about that staight right.

Hey ****face quit trying to turn this around on me before I tell borikua to take a bat to your knees.

I've made peace with Tito...I will never be upset about him beating up Pernell again. B-Hop put that one to rest a long time ago.

I have made my point though. You now understand the difference between a close fight and taking someone to school...you know you were wrong to say that. Cheers. Again....any more from you and:

borikua + a louisville slugger + your knees = crutches

he'll do it too. borikua is a ****ing madman.

whitaker is too small to beat trinidad, whitaker's best weight was 135, its funny everytime to fighters fight whoever the OLDEST is, a.ssholes on these boxing forums say they would win, whitaker is too short and not active enough to be de la hoya and trinidad
