Miguel Cotto could clear out the division?

Cotto is a very solid fighter...but I'm a bit unsure why this poll has him beating almost every legitimate weltweight out there. What have others seen in his last few fights that make him so imposing? I've seen skill, but also flaws- and some mental weaknesses. Cotto is very good but his last few fights have been against people who shouldn't have beat him.

Branco - do we remember this guy? Never heard much of his before or since, honestly.

Malignaggi...no one gave him a shot in hell. Sure, he put up a fight...but to whose credit is that?

Urkal. We're giving Cotto Welterweight credentials for this effort?


Cotto is moving up to 147 and I haven't seen him show with his temperament in a fight, coupled with his chin, he can really use his skills to clean out the division. I'm still not sold that he can take Zab. Sure, he has a good shot, but I'm not sold he'll dominate or anything.

Why are we all saying Cotto can whoop ass at 147? Quintana? I mean...other than that he's been a jr. welterweight fighter. Let's measure him a bit more before saying he'll wipe the division.

Love Cotto but he hasn't shown me anything that makes me think he can get past Zab. Hope he kicks the **** out of Judah though.

I don't know on what planet people are living if they think that with his chin and vulnerability could last past 6 with Margarito.

We have a lot of haters considering Margarito injured his hand during the fight, dealt with a injury while training that should've postponed the fight but Margarito went through it and beat Clottey.

Cotto loses to the larger fighters like Margarito and Williams, and the upper echelon like Mayweather and Mosley.

Margarito came through with a hand injury as many others have in the past including floyd, COTTO, Gatti, .... Margarito catches everything you throw at him, Cotto's left hook to the body is just nasty, I saw Margarito buckle at least twice to Clottey's shots and Cotto's a bigger puncher than Clottey, maybe those are some of the things people living in other planet think.

Dont get me wrong, I like Margarito, but he's gonna get pounded.

Mike Tyson was knocking bums out in the first round. Cotto does not knock them all out. He makes corners throw in towels. He makes fighters say no mas. He makes fighters take knees.

Anyone who thinks that Zab Judah will stop Cotto knows nothing about Cotto or Judah for that matter.

People are using Cotto's last two performances to judge him as a whole?

Judah might be able to win the first four rounds like he did against Mayweather. But then again, Mayweather aint got the kind of pop Cotto posses. I remember not too long ago there was this kid named Paulie Malignaggi. The kid had great ring movement and great hand speed. Guess what? Cotto's power nullified it in a blink of an eye. I remember people saying Cotto was too slow and he would never catch Paulie. LMAO Paulies face at the end of the fight, looked like someone threw a brick at him

Zab has enough power to end the fight? This is where I may be able to agree with you. But Zab obviously does not have the chin to commit.

I have already deemed this fight "The Battle of the Questionable chins".
People say Zab Judah has a suspect chin? It was ruled guilty by Kostya Tszyu on November 3, 2001

If Judah tries to run for 12 rounds, he will get caught. He can run but he will still pay.

His only chance is to fight but then the fight might end early for him because of his guilty chin.
I guess if he views the Pualie/Cotto video, he might try and hit once and then hug Cotto like Paulie was doing in the final part of that fight. One thing to keep in mind is that Cotto suffered a boxers fracture to his left hand in the 5th. You might argue that Cotto was still getting hit by Paulie. He was letting him. Paulie hits like a girl but Pualie has a very good chin, just like Urkal and huge heart too. I cant take their heart away from Paulie or Urkal.
I know Corley *****ed Cotto but he shook it off fast enough to get back into the fight.

This is a lose, lose situation for Zab.

Cotto is not losing.

Cotto has been able to stop everyfighter that Mayweather was unable to stop that was put before Cotto.

You do the math.

Also do not forget that Kostya Tszyu was unable to stop Oktay Urkal. Kostya Tszyu hit Oktay Urkal with everything and so did Cotto and Urkal would not budge. Kostya Tszyu hit Zab Judah once in the begining of the second round and that was all she wrote, that party was over. This should tell us a lot about Oktay's chin vs Zab's chin.

Point taken tho bud. Ive just seen sumthing in him that makes me think he is the best man in the best division! Mosley is a real problem (Prime Mosley Stops him!) Floyd wont exactly be a picnic either! But Like i say its Cotto all the way for me
