Wasnt this an old thread? If it isnt a rivalry they sure are trying stir one up. Pinoys are trying to break in the U.S. market and it so happens that Packy opened some eyes againts some mexican legends that has made every Pinoy vs. Mexican fight so far a fight for bragging rights. You can tell by all the Pinoy haters poppin up that they want nothing more than to see a Pinoy loose in the ring. I think the world cup on August 11, which I think is close match fighter for fighter, will further fuel the rivalry especially if the Pinoys win which will cause people like the thread starter some emotional damage. By the way Pinoys are up on Mexicans post Manny Pac. It may have been tomato cans but August 11 should tell.Comment

This is from 2003 the year Pac beat Barrera. Like I said alot of the beaten Mexicans were tomato cans but Pinoys are comming out the wood work since the days of Luisito Espinosa. Good time too because of Barrera, Hamed, Morales there is more attention. I don't know about you saying mexicans are better fighters, maybe a better history of fighters, but when has Pinoy fighters ever got the chance to showcase their talent in the U.S.? Not for a long time. Its not like all of a sudden Pinoys just popped up on HBO, showtime, vs, espn, etc because their was a concurrent rise of fighters with talent the same time Pacquiao rolled around. Look at how Pinoys stack up; you watched Pacquiao vs. Barrera, who woulda known Pac was that good; Montiel vs Gorres (I thought Gorres won), no one thought Gorres was in the same class; An aging Penalosa finally got a shot and look how he did againts De Leon, Most thought Gerry P was getting knocked out but instead PDL was on his bike at the end. Nonito Donaire Koed Vic Darchinyan in a shocker. Its not like Pinoys did not have the talent, they just never had the support. Pac changed all that.Last edited by Alibata; 07-11-2007, 05:30 PM.Comment

well itis mostly fighters rival other fighters.
If you look it that way then southern mexician rival people from north and many other place rival others. as well as mexician amercian rival mexicians.
But once someone is in the ring all the crappy nationality doesnt matter and the only thing that will not betray him is his training. All the fans people media hoccus pocus doesnt effect the fighters. it one on one in a square ring. The winner is the one who is more smarter and hungerierComment
