Personally from what I have seen he has got the goods. He has beaten guys easily that top 10 guys have struggled with. I think he is going to have a problem finding meaningful fights soon with him being in germany. If he can ever get over to the states it will be good for the divison.
How interested are you guys in povetkins progress

If his chin is solid he can do fine agianst some top 15 and better guys. I think he can beat the monte barrets lance witikers and kisniquisComment

He's definitely(lennox) worth checking out; he's a brawler with decent power and a killer instinct. In his last fight he beat seasoned veteran David Bostice in two rounds. Of all the hw prospects fighting now, he's probably the most exciting and promising because of his brawling style and punching power. Check him out on youtube.Comment

It might be appearant by sig, but I have tracked Povetkib for some time. His next fight May 5th will be aginst limited but durable Leo Nolan. Povetkin will give any heavyweight right now fits. He can't beat them all but he is more than tough.Comment

Povetkin vs Nolan
Detroit's Leo Nolan (age 34, 26-1) is a good choice as Povetkin's next opponent. Nolan's only lost once (a MD in his last fight) and has a solid chin (he's never been knocked down). This will be a good test of Alexander's power.
Nolan should at least take Povetkin into the middle rounds or even the later rounds, and that will be good for Alexander, he needs the experience.
To answer the thread's question, I'm very interested in Povetkin's progress. There are only a few boxers who have the potential to accomplish great things, and I think Povetkin is one of them.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 03-27-2007, 09:52 PM.Comment
