To be honest watching MMA is like watching the old boxing. Watch an MMA PPV and theres so much excitement and hype. It will never beat boxing but its giving people what boxing is not at the moment.

MMA is mildly exciting to me. The only fight I found exciting on the MMA showtime card was the girl fight. That was an excellent fight. Every now and them Im compelled by an MMA fight.

If any thing it compliments boxing like Bill Goldberg said yesterday.

in mma alot of fights are like gatti vs ward...action packed and non stop.

gotta disagree with that statement. keep in mind that when an mma fight does turn into a back and forth exchange, it's usually between two low level fighters with minimal skills (bonnar vs griffin) or during the common occurrence of two fighters being completely gassed after several minutes of striking.

is it really the fault of top boxers that they're just too good to get gassed within the first 5 minutes of their bout? is it really their fault that they're just too good not to get drawn into a sloppy exchange of wide-winging fists? can you blame them for making the other guy miss badly and catching him with a counter rather than standing right in front of him for no good reason other than to get hit?

i can easily turn what you're saying around and say the only reason why people watch mma (actually ufc, since mma as whole doesn't have much impact) is for it to turn into an ugly, toughman boxing brawl, with small gloves... i highly doubt that the majority of the people in attendance will truly and completely appreciate the grappling element of the sport, cus then collegiate wrestling would have been right up there on hbo along side boxing decades ago. same as k-1, without a doubt the most fan pleasing battle at the bellagio's i've seen in vegas was when the kicking was thrown out the window for the most part, and things just degraded into a sloppy boxing match. (kind of like goodridge vs die faust)

i'll always be down for a great boxing match, just like i'll always be down for a great mma bout. but if i had to choose between a gatti vs ward or a silva vs jackson II, i'll go w/ gatti vs ward...because in this case, the longer a boxing match the better.

yea,,,,even the biggest mma haters couldnt not like watching that guy. almost all of his fights are knockouts,,,not tap outs or submissions. he can crack

the reason us boxing fans dont like mma is cause of all the hugging and ****ty ground work they do,but its not like that with chuck,chuck does with the same game plan every time,punch punch and punch untill the guy is out cold

yea,,I dont like those types either but there are several guys that are usually fun to watch like rich franklin and tim sylvia,,,,also andre arlovski. I'll always like boxing more but I tune into mma if there's fights lined up that I know wont be just grappling matches
