I was close to making a thread about Marquez. I dont get why he isnt getting any props for what I thought was a wonderful performance. He made a statement in round 1. He busted Vasquez' face up early.

but this is a p4p guy beating a champ who was on the cusp of p4p,I think that deserves more mention that just this thread.

Yep. The knock on Marquez was that he was just sitting in his weight class, beating a bunch of solid mandatories, avoiding the top level fighters in higher weight classes.

Funny how when he goes up and beats the top dog in the next division, there is little praise
        exactly......

Exactamundo. If you weren't ignorant to the lower weights you understood that Marquez was already an elite fighter and Vazquez was right up there with the top 15 fighters in the sport. Vazquez was coming off wins over Gonzalez, Hernandez and Larios...he showed he was a durable guy and a threat to anyone around his weight.

Rafaels win should certainly spark discussion about him being one of the 3-4 best fighters in the sport.

Funny how when he goes up and beats the top dog in the next division, there is little praise (like you said) because people were hung up on the way the fight was ended.

Eh, a stoppage is a stoppage. Vazquez doesn't stop there and he gets decapitated somewhere in the next few rounds. He had nothing for that right hand.

Marquez hasn't lost in 6 years or so. He has beaten and STOPPED just about every dangerous opponent around the bantamweight limit. It's crazy that this kid can't get more love.

You said it. Even though thats not really a knock, I mean someone who doesn't know what the **** tehre talking about would consider it a knock, but he's been fighting very tough guys and blowing them out. He can box and he's the biggest p4p puncher in the sport

What can his haters say now?

No, Pac is the hardest puncher in boxing P4P.
