Now that Marquez moved up and beat a very good, very dangerous opponent like Vazquez, will some of you dummies give him respect? This guy has been one of the 5 best p4p fighters in the sport now for quite some time but a large portion of this board failed to recognize that in any way. The guy is a damned good fighter and just gave a great performance in a FOTY type fight. He's certainly in the p4p class of guys like Winky Wright, Manny Pacquiao and Marco Barrera.
Miguelito failed to stop Urkal but he certainly tried to. Urkal took some nasty shots to the body and head (that uppercut was crazy) but he proved he was a durable, game opponent. I thought Urkal would only last 8-9 rounds tops and he proved me wrong. Obviously all of that ridiculous headbutting had something to do with his survival, but he definitely got inside of Cotto's head with those Casamayor-espue tactics. Cotto was really composed until that moment where he picked Urkal clean off his feet though. I think we'll see a more calculated Cotto against Judah...Miguel tasted Urkals power and knew that Urkal had nothing for him. It'll be a different story come Judah time though. Miguels defense looked good through the first 5 rounds. He'll need to turn in a better performance next time he fights...but the kid keeps on winning.
Miranda definitely won over another fan with perfomance last night. I was kidn of indifferent to him before but dude really just comes to fight. We got to see the difference between a hyped fighter like Green and a hyped fighter like Miranda. Green was so hesitant and was pretty much in survival mode for some reason...Miranda didn't care if he took some punishment to give out his own. Jermain Taylor better watch the **** out...same with Abraham. Even if he doesn't beat thsoe guys he'll give em a big time scare and a run for their money. Now that Green lost like that...will some people write him off as nothing special like they did Quintana after Cotto beat that ass? Same circumstances...
