I'm not taking anything away from Urkal. He came in there to fight and he did. He was getting bombed by Cotto from all sides and he galantly took it.

But the open scoring really affected the fight. Some of the rounds were hardly fought rounds so if Urkal's corner doesn't know the actual scores I'm sure they won't throw out the towel. It's just logical because they won't risk further pain or injury to their fighter for a "loss cause".

I'm not taking anything away from him either, he showed a good amount of heart.

If I heard correctly Zab can't lose his next fight and still get the big fight, like with Mayweather. So its not guaranteed, and if his next fighter shouldn't be a problem, they said the same thing about Baldomir. lol

Urkal was there to fight, he didnt just go there to get a paycheck and lay down

i didn't find this fight so boring. the end was ugly. maybe some people are hating on cotto because he didn't destroy urkal. but hey, urkal is a tough guy. somebody told me larry merchant said that urkal didn't want to fight and only came for a payday, i didn't saw that.

Cotto fought well, dominated virtually every round and had to put up with a very dirty opponent. I can't see too much he did wrong there. It's pretty poor form when a fighter who wins a fight clearly and comperehensively without running and who presses for a knockout from start to finish is criticised for his efforts. Cotto doesn't suck, he's a magnificent fighter.
