Tua turned down Lamon Brewster for his May 19th fight, preferring to stay busy with confidence building fights. Tua is coming off of a pedestrian decision win over Robert Hawkins. Lamon Brewster hasn't fought since 2006's hell and back loss to Sergei Lyakhovich in which he suffered a detached retina.
David Tua turned down Lamon Brewster.

smart move by tua. not that i dont think tua isnt capable of beating brewster but he needs to get back into the bigtime scene slowly just like shannon briggs didComment

Brewster will try sooner, but I don't think Tua wants to be challenged. He is just getting paid at this point. Eventually he is going to give one last shot because he'll pretty much have to, but Tua will just lose again like he always has against the elite and vanish for good.Comment

I posted this as a match up in the Fantasy fight section, i think it would be a war! Too bad it aint happening! Tua man up!Comment

While everyone would love to see it, I'm not so sure Brewster would be so eager to rematch Liakhovich. Brewster looked so beaten down by the end of that fight. It was impossible to watch it and not feel really bad for him even before the whole torn retina business came out.Comment
