George Mitchell, even with "all the power of the Commissioner's office," hasn't gotten anywhere. The United States Congress barely got anywhere. But the Albany County district attorney doesn't mess around. His office has arrested a whole slew of doctors around the country who have been allegedly shipping steroids to professional athletes throughout the country. [details]

You know I was alluding to this during my thread, and now it comes out, what a coincidence.
"Fighter "A" is on steroids, Fighter "B" is not"

Therefore, if Holyfield took them, which must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, I would like to know when he started. Was it to move up to the heavyweight division (which is very likely) or was it after he was past a certain age (into his 30's) that he needed them for recovery? Either way, I have mixed feelings with athletes using steroids. I acknowledge that "healing" is a key in sports and with an injury, especially as you get older, it takes time to heal. However, in my view, I want to see what Nature has to offer in terms of "born talent/ability", so using substances that enhance your ability, are cheating. If somebody is using, it is unfair to someone that does not want to use. Of course, I could argue for both sides, but will not do that at this moment since I do not feel like writing a paper.
Quick not:
The other side:
If you are not in sports, and need them, I am for it. There are a number of Males that suffer from low hormone levels and cannot live a "normal" life.
One argument that attaches both is this: can we separate the two? meaning, an athlete makes his living through sports and will eventually decline from punishment to his body and a decline in hormone levels, so shall he be able to (like the everyday Joe) to take steroids to keep his work.
Alternatively, is Pro Sports different in that "We" want to see the competition of nature on an "equal" playing field?
If you look at it, we would have to define "Nature": a century ago, Males wouldn't be able to be treated, and would be crushed.
In Sparta, on Alpha-Males are allowed to survive. If you are disabled, or declined to the point where you can't be helpful, off the cliff you go.
So lets determine what we want to be, how we want to think, what our society is about, etc.
We need a better "Definition/Rules" in order to understand the Game we are in.
Then again, who is to determine such rules?
If someone needs medicine to live, shall we deny him?
If you do deny him and he goes out on his own to get treatment, should he get in trouble?
Especially considering we live in a Country that has a decleration that we are Free.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 02-28-2007, 10:46 AM.
