There was a fight at the Miccosukee tonight, one of the few that I wont be attending. You gotta hit it often; see lots of current and former fighters there, celebs, fights are usually televised by Telemundo and you cant beat the cost of tickets. Same with Hard Rock, though the prices are a bit steeper, but the competition is a bit better.

By the way, I forgot to say that I asked Dundee what his prediction for the fight was and he told me it was 'too hard to pick' and it was 'probably the biggest fight ever'. Those were his exact words, which I thought was funny, considering he was involved in some of the greatest fights in history (Ali-Frazier, Leonard-Hearns, Duran, etc.)

PBF seemed like quite a good boy and yes, subdued. I heard he was supposed to be nasty at the conference or something. But he dont look small compared to DLH.

He lives part-time in Miami; I see him at the fights alot. He was probably there to support Oscar, as they embraced a few times. I wonder if he is considering a jump to GBP? For a while, I thought he might be training with Dundee, since he came in with him and was doing a few interviews with him. But I couldnt confirm that, and forgot to ask Dundee when I talked to him.

Dundee and Mayorga came in together first. Mayorga actually loks in shape this time; last time I saw him, was when they announced the De La Hoya fight with him and aside from smoking a few cigarettes, he didnt look in great shape. Today he looked solid. Asked him about the Vargas fight. To end all speculation, the contract HAVE NOT been signed yet. He says it's the Vargas camp stalling. WHen asked why, he replied that they were 'scared'. Mayorga was there to support Oscar and I got a shot of them hugging after the face off with Mayweather.

Floyd got there first, and walked the red carpet signing autographs and taking pics. He didnt look as in a great a mood as the first two conferences, but still signed, posed and smiled for fans. Asked him how his hand was and he just nodded, as if to say ok. Got my glove signed. Oscar came in about 10 minutes afterward, signing and posing for pics as well, though didnt sign as much as Floys did during the walk. As he signed my glove, I asked him how the shoulder was doing, but he didnt answer.
The press conference had lots of talk with reps of the sponsers and stuff.
Freddie Roach was introduced and was short and sweet, saying they had a good workout at 6AM and Oscar was ready and would win the fight.
Floyd was the first of the two fighters to speak. As the press conference was going on, Oscar was in his usual sullen and focused mood and Floyd had loosened up and was joking with his trainers and others. Everyone had given him a round of applause for his bday tomorrow, including Oscar. As he took the podium, he went over to Oscar and whispered something in his ear and kinda stared at him as he took the dais. Oscar laughed it off, though it wasnt clear what he said. He was much more subdued this time around, giving Oscar his props and promising a phone booth fight. He says he isnt gonna run and will stand and trade with him. As he left the podium, he whispered in Oscars ear again and walked back to his seat.
Oscar came up and did his usual routine, thanking everyone, having respect for Floyd but promising victory. Then in spanish he thanked all his mexican, boricua, dominican and nicaraguan fans (as he said this, he laughed and pointed at Mayorga sitting on press row). Then he said, in spanish, that he was already getting tired of this guy (Floyd) and promised a good showing May 5th.

Afterward, they did their interviews, signed for the fans and FLoyd was the first to leave. Oscar stayed behind and signed LOTS for the fans, including some moron who had over 100 pics in his hand and kept putting him under Oscars nose to get signed. Finally, Oscar's brother (I think it was) spotted him and told him to leave, that they didnt sign for ebay sellers. Overall, it was a good time, damn hot and I hoped to spot some BoxingScene members there, but didnt know if anyone was. Wish I woulda known you were the GoodFella.
WHAT? Say it aint so. What was he doin there? Please say he made a scene of some sort.
