Manny Steward says McClellan is the most talented he's ever worked with, the best he's ever had.

that has to be the most brutal fight i have ever seen. i recall how there was no reaction from gerald when he was hit after the bell as he was walking back to the corner, almost like his mind was far away. i remember thinking ben must have been on meth to recover so quickly after getting knocked out of the ring. ill never forget that fight.

i was there that night, and for along time after that i turned away from the sport, i was ashamed i'd stood and roared benn on to do such damage to another fighter. the atmosphere was very intimidating, there was an air of violence around the arena that night, i'm not a londoner, even though i love london, and i felt very concious of not looking a people the wrong way, or for too long.
it was the greatest fight i've ever seen "live", but i wish it had been crap and gerald could have walked out of that ring and been ok.

Yeah i saw that small bit on ITV at the weekend, i felt real sorry for g-man, i like benn but i wish that it was over in the 1st round when benn went down, but i wonder if g-man maybe had a weekness so maybe he would have had the same thing happen to him just later.

              btw dog, its "McClellan "
****, I've embarrassed myself there. I think it's because I pronounce it "McClennan" for some reason.

Anyway, glad you found the vid of interest.

I know I was joking lol. Hamed was a sack of **** with Manny Steward.

Nevertheless the McClellan Benn fight taught me one thing, a boxer needs more than just skill. You can be the hardest, fastest hitter but heart is just as vital. Benn got knocked down in the 1st round very badly. To think he got up and won the fight after that shows what a great champ he was.
