Katsidis-Khan sounds mouth-watering to me for early 2008.

I can see khan on the floor when he comes up against a top puncher

      his defence is wide open

He's only had 11 fights. What makes you think that he wont adapt his style as he fights better opponents? He doesnt need his guard closed at the moment because he doesnt get hit much and when he does, they arent particularly troubling shots. He's a quick counter-puncher. This is how most of them start out, Khan just happens to have more talent and exposure than most. As in most cases they come up against heavier hitters and their defense starts to improve. No reason to expect that Khan will be any different.

This is true but at the same time after a while its gonna be difficult to adjust. He needs to fight someone that can punch to teach him about defence. If he gets to 15-0 or 20-0 without fighting a few punchers then he will naturally neglect defence and it could be very difficult for him to adapt

his victories dont mean nothin. he has only been fighting featherweight bums.
he simply does not fight like a pro and makes to many mistakes, if you know boxing you will know what im saying. he may well improve but he hasnt shown much improvement in his first 11 fights at all. he does have a lot of time so you never know, but if he does step up soon he will get exposed.

Indeed. But it would be unfair to assume that is what is going to happen. Especially unlikely considering his current rating and the likes of those ahead of him (many of which ARE decent punchers and ARE likely to make up some of his next few fights). So rather than making potentially moronic statements such as "Khan cannot defend and as soon as he fights a puncher he is going to get KOed fksdljflk!!", it'd be best suited to merely sit and wait and see what happens and if people REALLY feel the need to comment, something like "If he doesnt work on his defense, he may struggle against people who can pick and pack a better punch than he's faced so far", would be more appropriate and make people look like less of an idiot.

You're an idiot. How many former impressive amateur 20-year-old boxers with 11 fights under their belt do you know who have fought huge fights and have a finely honed professional style?

Do you think that people are simply born into the pro-ranks with all the tools at their disposal? Thats why they are ranked low and barely get a shot at the big time before they've at least doubled the tally Khan is currently on.

u dont get it. most rankings are bs as most ppl know. im saying he has not showed much improvement even against fightin bums so i dont see how he can beat world class or even europeans in his next 10 fights.

all he needs to improve is his defense, well not ALL he needs to improve is his defense,he is 1 of the fastest fighters i have ever seen, his footwork is pretty quick, his power isnt bad and it is improving every fight, his stamina is good,in the fight with rachid drilzane he looked as fresh in the 10th as in the first.

in his first fight i see what you mean about looking like an amateur, maybe the first couple, but as time has gone on i can see what he has been working on in the gym,his foot movement has become alot faster, his power, straight shots to the body alot more not just head hunting,he has stopped taunting,he doesnt stick his chin out anymore......

things i think he needs to improve are - holding his gloves a little higher, which is something that can be debated, many great fighters do extremely well with the style of holding there gloves low,but it will leave him open to shots. leaning back from shots,i think thats a dangerous move,if you get caught off balance like that there is a good chance ur gonna go down hard shot or not.
flurries, when he has drilzane in the corner and he was throwing a big flurry,he looked abit messy,he didnt cover up after he finished throwing the shots, and to be honest he looked abit girly lol,but that can be worked on.

khan is a very good prospect, hes stepping up somewhat in his next fight and i cant wait to see it,with a good team in his corner and a good trainer and dedication which he has, along with the talent,he can be 1 of the great british fighters,i just hope he doesnt waste it.
