He is not displaying "ring generalship" by simply stalking someone. That does not count as pushing the action and controlling the ring. In fact PM is controlling and using the ring much better.

Then you have effective clear punching and defense. Cherry's defense is worse than PMs and PM has landed a lot of punches more cleanly than Cherry.

For being a boxer with speed, Paulie sure does get hit. He's lucky Ednar isn't another Cotto. Though Paulie does have a great jab.

Cherry is really trying now. But I think he is expending a lot of energy this round, he knows he's behind and he's just trying to go for the knockout.

But he didn't put enough body work in and PM is still quick.
