Showtime already stated that they wont go head to head with the DLH/PBF fight because its too important for boxing. So May 5 is false.

What if they got on the DLH/PBF undercard? That would be amazing. This night is going to so big for boxing, they definitely should get a (kind of) marquee fight like this one that will undoubtably end in brutal fashion. We need it.

Nothing like a couple of spent fighters beating the **** out of each other. I think this fight should be out the back of a bar in el passo.

This wouldn't be a undercard HBO PPV, this bout will be the main event of SHO's Championship Boxing. This will be head 2 head match up... HBO will be PPV and SHO will be free to its subscribers.

in my eyes this fight should be on espn fnf or fox or versus. and tyson should be on the undercard fighting some pizza delivery boy.

I just wanted to bump this up with some facts to share.

I think this fight will be good, if you look at their records:

Mayorga has lost to both Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya

Vargas has also lost to Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya

They both lost by tko's in both their bouts with both fighters.

Both fighters are coming off of a loss: Vargas to Mosley, Mayorga to DLH

                Ricardo Mayorga is 33 with a record of: 28-6-1, with 23 KO's

                Fernando Vargas is 29 with a record of: 26-4, with 22 KO's

Ricardo Mayorga is: 5'9 with a 69" Reach

Fernando Vargas is: 5'10 with a 74" Reach

                Both are Orthodox fighters.

Wrong. So is that why everything is set? No, nothing is even close to being done in this fight.

I am extatic that Mayorga has decided to fight Vargas. I think Mayorga will come more prepared for Vargas than he did against De la Hoya. I think he will stop Vargas with a late TKO. I can't believe this fight is happening, what do you think will happen?
this is pathetic. you must be a tyson child. i feel sorry for these washed up looserers.

Is that what they are listing Mayorga as, 5'9? I've met him and he seems about an inch shorter than that. Close enough, I guess.

                      Vargas is an OLD 29.
