One, because they are riding on the guys popularity.

Two, Pac can be a very good dummy. He can be easily influenced to run things based on what his friend politicians says. Do you expect Pac to understand the dynamics of governance just over night?

this s_cks .... i was hoping to see pacman box for at least two more years, that was just right on schedule of his timetable for retirement at age 30 ...

but now he is no longer hungry and i think his focus is already outside of boxing, sad to see him go ....

i'll still cheer and root for him everytime he fights, but now its time to look for another pinoy fighter to nuthug ... lol

Anyway, I think this it will be the end of Pac's boxing glory days,
once he becomes a politician. One's body can only serve one master at a time

              pacs on the slide too
              true he beat morales
but not only was morales on the slide
but manny didnt do it the way hes known for
he had to change it up
i think his prime was right around 2000
the way he was showen the non stop punchin
              blazen speed
              and crushin power
but i think after the marquez fight
we saw the emergence of a new pac
one that sat more on his punches
              and threw less punches
not to say he threw less then anyone else
              he was still unmatched
but it wasnt like it was before
              after the marquez fight
he tryed to get more outa of every punch
              so idk
              its tought to say
              2000-2004ish physical prime
he was taken guys out on sheer guts and brutality
              after the marquez fight
he saw not everyone was gonna give in to that kinda pressure
and that he needed to mix it up by sittin on some shots more then others
              and ofcourse
              using his right hand
              2004-2007 mental prime

Well....no one ever said that Pacquiao was a smart guy.

Signing two contracts, a pathetic singing career (have you heard him sing? horrific voice) bouyed only by his most loyal boxing fans, and now announcing his political career - yeah, not exactly a smart guy.

Oh well. At least he isn't running for President.
