Roach: "Mayweather, Jr. Not A Complete Fighter"

Floyd stopped Judah??? lol.... now a UD is a stoppage???Kayjay obviously hasn't seen many of his fights, because he just recently stalked Judah to a stoppage just last year. Can't stand toe to toe with a man about 10 - 15 lbs bigger than you maybe, but he stands toe - toe in almost every fight in the lower weights. Plus why would you stand toe-toe when your best chance of winning is to use your mobility against slower bigger men. I don't understand it with some people. How can you criticize someone for doing what gives them the best chance to win. Isn't that why we play sports to win, why must he fight with his B game to get a win. Only Floyd they ask of this, it's crazy...Comment

no prob buddy....
Floyd may not be a complete fighter to Roach, but he makes the most of what he can do in the ring.... exploiting his advantages in speed and reflexes... the question is... how long can Floyd keep doing this (relying on his speed & reflexes against bigger opponents)...??Comment

Hmmm. And to think I wrote in my post "this is not a criticism." But since I mentioned Floyd Mayweather without saying he's 'p4p baby', then I'm of course subject to some criticism myself. Mayweather is a talented fighter, too bad he doesn't have any fans with IQs north of about 75.Comment

Freddie Roach to get a lot more cash than Mayweather was offered by De La Hoya
By DHBoxing (Feb 13, 2007) Dhouse Boxing
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Freddie Roach is set to make a career high pay day when he takes on the postition as Oscar De La Hoya's trainer for his upcoming May 5th battle againt Floyd Mayweather Jr. As a fighter, Roach earned a career high of $13,000 when he fought Bobby Chacon. As a trainer however, his biggest pay day will be well over $1 million dollars for training De La Hoya.
De La Hoya who offered Floyd Mayweather Sr., his long time trainer and the estranged father to his next opponent,
$500,000 for training fees and an additional $500,000 should they win, was turned down. Floyd Mayweather Sr wanted $2 million dollars for the task and Oscar's offer of up to 1 million dollars (should they win) was not enough.
Freddie Roach will be making $300,000 more than what was offered to Floyd Mayweather Sr., and none of Roach's earnings will be subjected to the "if we win" clause. That sets Roach's earnings at $1.3 Million US dollars he will receive for training the "Golden Boy."

lol, nard is not complete.... he waits too much to throw, throws too few............................................... ........i dont think PBF is a 100% complete all around fighter, but hell 99% of boxers arent.... outside of nard, i dont think anyone else is...Comment

roach is getting paid more because he dropped 3 fights with his fighters to train DLH. he put Pacquiao on the back burner for a hot second, vasquez, and manfredo have been put on hold as well.
so it's basically compensation for roach, 3 paydays rolled into one for a one time deal, not bad for freddie.Comment
