Peter should have had the shot in January. It's rightfully his. Vitali can't just conveniently decide to fight again now that the WBC champ is a joke.

I dont ever really agree with you to much but I think your right on this one! Vitali waited for the right moment to come back and Maskaev is the perfect target for him. Peters deserves his shot and I'm sure he would fight Vitali after knocking out Maskaev.

why wont it happen? If the wbc approves maskaev-peter then they will have the winner fight Vitali it will be mandatory for the winner, its just a matter of Vitali wanting to wait that long...

Probably but I think Peter is a stubborn guy that is why he turned this offer down. If Peter had more technical skills and better movement he would be unstoppable but all he is just a clubber it doesnt look like his team wants to hire anyone good to improve him but thats a shame..

sheez, all you people talk about is that 'all fighters care about is money', 'thats whats wrong with boxing nowadays', and heres Sam Peter, waving away a guarenteed $5 million+. just for his shot at the title that he earned via mandatories! Unbelievable!

And if Vitali is really still as good as he was a few years ago, he should have NO problem rising through the ranks quickly, just beat a very high ranked contendor, right?

Personally I think Vitali should go ahead and fight Rahman, hes rated fairly high by the WBC I think, and plus it will get rid of the idea that Vitali ducked Rahman, however anyone saw it...seems like a fairly solid win to me, especially if Vitali were to beat his ass. plus Rahman was Vitalis mandatory years back anyway
