Will you respect Hatton more if he beats Castillo?

I'm curious as to how this is going to work out with all the Hatton haters on the board....

I'm not a big Ricky Hatton fan, still I give him more respect than I see most on this board give him at any given time. So will any of you respect Ricky Hatton more if he manages to defeat Jose Luis Castillo? Or will you simply take the "Castillo was overrated" or "Castillo is washed up" route simply to discredit Hatton further?

Because I can see it clear as day that when Hatton beats Castillo (and he will).... The haters will come out in full force trying to discredit Hatton's victory. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Hatton is a great fighter and I think he's been in decline ever since he defeated Tsyzu. however I still think Hatton deserves more respect than the bull**** I see on these boards daily.

Not especially, but only because I have higher hopes for Rick.

Castillo IMO lost to a guy with 15 fights that nobody knew about, but if the Fighter of the Year 2005 and top 10 P4Per beats Castillo he should be praised? I just don't see the logic there. Let's see Hatton beat Cotto, then I'll give him much props.

I agree for the most part.

Castillo is not the most exciting matchup - I was deflated by Hatton's choice.

But, that's the fight that was available - within reason, I imagine..

I don't mean openly praised. I realize Castillo is battle-worn but he's still a good fighter with a damn good body shot, second only to Miguel Cotto's IMO. I just mean, a nod of respect for giving up $2 million and a title in order to fight a guy with the reputation of Castillo.

And if Castillo can get himself geared up for this fight (meaning perform better than he did against Herman Ngoudjo) it would be a risky fight for Hatton.

I think the haters, wont respect Hatton regardless of who he fights and at whatever weight he fights at.

If Hatton can TKO or KO Castillo. This will speak volumes, as Mayweather could not TKO or KO Jose..

at the end of the day the castillo-ngoudjo had alot of close rounds hence the split decision it could of gone either way but castillo poot hes foot on the gas at the right time in alot of the rounds showing hes ring smarts.
this fight will be explosive and the fact that castillos last fight was lack lustre and hatton still didnt impress many us fans will only add to the ingrediants to make foty 2007.
if hatton stops castillo ( i believe he would be the first to achieve this) then yeah you would be crazy or more likely a hater to not give hatton props but if he wins a close ud or a sd depending on how he looked ricky will get no more than he nearly lost to a washed up blownup lightwieght
