The mayweather fight would look like the early rounds of that fight only Mayweather has better defense. Peace
I half way agree with you. The fight would be very similar with Floyd trading in the pocket. Chavez would eventually wear him out though. Taylor was a much more fluent combination puncher than Floyd. Floyd wouldn't throw half the punches Taylor threw and he'd pay for it, allowing Chavez to walk him down and land on the inside.

I think Mayweather would use his speed from the outside and footwork to bust Chavez up for most of the fight and then move in for the late kill. i think Medrick Taylor had the speed but he was not patient and his courage cost him. Floyd is patient, very accurate, and has better footwork. I just dont seChavez landing anything clean, i think Floyd is the worst oppenent a fighter like Chavez could face.

Whitaker and Mayweather are very different fighters. Unlike Whitaker, Mayweather is not a great inside fighter. How in the world would Mayweather stop chavez when he couldn't stop Goyo Vargas or Castillo, who aren't in the same league as Chavez? When Chavez fought with Whitaker for the 147lb wbc belt, chavez was NOT in his prime. He had almost 90 fights under his belt, and a lot of tough, physical fights. Also, Mayweathers punches wouldn't do anything on Chavez's rock solid chin.

I see Mayweather using his speed and winning the first few founds, then Chavez's body shots breaking Mayweather down. Chavez by late round KO.

Bottom line, Chavez struggled with Whitaker, he would struggle just as bad with mayweather who is just as smart and just as intelligent with the same outstanding defense. Chavez wouldnt have any idea what to do...just like he didint against whitaker.
Castillo is a poormans Julio Cesar Chavez. Chavez by TKO or Decision.

Floyd would hit Chavez and by the next round floyds hands turn to dust. Chavez wins tko in late rounds.

whether its 130, 135, 140, there's no way floyd is going to beat the great Julio Cesar Chavez. did he ever faced anyone close to a Edwin Rosario or Meldrick Taylor, chavez trash them when they were at their peak, the best fighter PBF fought is Castillo, and he could barely beat him the first time, Pretty boy will get stopped or plainly quit against JC superstar just like his uncle roger.
