I consider brilliant tactition to be a fighter that flows through the ring and has perfected his punchs and stance and knows the ins and outs of the ring. Imo, Winky and Hopkins, are technitions but they don't always make there work look like an art form, somtime mudded.

You and other point out that winky is a brillent boxer, when? His biggest win Trinidad faded old Trinidad. The Taylor fight credit, he was very competitive but he lost a close decicion.

first of all, the taylor fight was a draw, with the VAST majority, including Jim Lampley and 90% of the people on here, having WRIGHT winning the fight clearly.

And second of all, Vargas started fighting younger then when WRight started. Different fighters start at different times. Wright is now 6 years older then Vargas, but hes still better...

the only argument vargas has as to claim beating winky is the compubox numbers....(i have that fight and in the first 9 rounds, winky was besting vargas 7 rounds to 2 though you could make an argument that they were 6-3 winky,with better compu box numbers for winky, the last three rounds where 10 and twelve for vargas, winky th eleventh. final scorecard 116-112 winky wright)the reason vargas got slightly better compubox numbers(266 landed, 770 thrown, 35% against wrights 229, 672, 34%)was that vargas threw 100 punches in rounds 10 and 12 whit winky throwing only 25...because he had already won....even lederman, known winky hater(bacause of wrights comments regarding the judges in his fight against harry simon, including ledrman's daughter, julie),gave winky the fight.....

while this does have all the symptoms for a borefest im definately going to watch. this is a question i've wanted to be answered for years. the weight is obviously a bit north of where i always dreamed this fight being- but ill take what i can get. winky should be fine at the higher weight, his style would work at almost any weight.

Before Winky beat Mosley then Trinidad nobody gave a **** about Winky, nice to see Winky has some fans around that will hype his ****ty style. People talk about arogant fighters, Winky is as arogant as they come. Yet, because he has been nice in recent interviews and now is on top he tries to be more humble and his fans like you two follow his bull****.
