Welter would be a good thing but his chin will always be a question.

THe only reason i think its in question, was because of the 4th round KO against Castillo.

And Using GATTI as an example isnt always true. Lots of guys continually gain power as they go up in weight, and some completely lose it.

And even though CORRALES fought at 140 something against CASTILLO II, he still weighed in at 135. If he weights in at 147, he could weigh 154 at fight night and have this tremendous build.

I think if his power carries over, and the chin is still there due to the rest, Corrales could be the MUST WATCH guy in the division
If not for spitting his mouthpiece out twice in first fight with Castillo, he would have been stopped. He claimed the first time it came out, but the tape clearly shows that the second time he took it out of his mouth with his glove.

I'd like to see him fight Miguel Cotto, regardless of his questionable chin, I think the styles would make for a great fight, however long it lasted.
I think cotto would easly ko coralles in the forst few rounds.

Me too really, but it'd always be good to see whether that really would happen the way many would expect. It depends on how well Corrales improves up at a more natural weight imo. One of those fights were if Corrales landed a decent punch, you never know.

a lot of people seem to think that. I personally think that if he hadnt gotten the extra time, he would have held on for the rest of the round. Maybe taken a knee or something.

And then he would have lost a decision or possibly stopped castillo, who would probably be rushing in for the KO.

And plus, Corrales said he took his mouthpiece out with his gloves but tried to hold onto it. but it slipped out do to the bad grip w/ the gloves

              are u serious?

Cotto doesnt have NEARLY the experience to take a guy like Corrales out. And hes a body puncher and corrales has shown he can take a damn good body shot.

He was never hurt to the body against castillo, and i think castillo is a much better, but not stronger, body puncher then Cotto.

I think that would make for a VERY entertaining and brutal affair.

But if you think it would be easy for Cotto, u are faaaar off. I would take Corrales by KO if they fought by the end of 2007. Maybe with a few more fights and corrales diminishing skills, possible a cotto KO.

His chin is questionable, but people seem to forget that when you go up in class, you're facing harder punchers. If his chin was questionable at 135, it COULD be PATHETIC at 147. I put "could" in caps because not draining themselves helps fighters with their chin, but this guy is going up two weight classes, and there is a huge difference between them.

Corrales' main advantage is his size at 135, if he moves up to 147 the guys up there will be able to take his punches and give back harder. Maybe at Jr. WW Corrales stands a chance of success but I can't see him fight at 147

his main advantage is his power and reach. Both of which could carry over in WW division.

And his management jumped right to 147 without hesitation so they must feel he has a good shot up there...

The power, which it may be added, may well improve with the added weight behind it.
