Oscar will be made to very slow on May 5th... though he is not. Nobody realizes how fast floyd is until they fight. Floyd will pivot grab and sidetep with great footwork and accuracy all the way to a 12 round Unam decision.. maybe split if they wanna make it interesting.

Yes, Oscar can hurt Floyd but he is going to find it hard to land clean. As for PBF hurting Oscar yes to the body over and over again The body punches will be huge in this fight, altough i believe Oscar can take a punch to the stomach he will lose stamina (he already gasses out late). Floyd also has better (great) footwork and ring intelligence. Oscar will land, maybe even put Floyd on ***** street but Floyd will go to the body often and by round 8 or 9 Oscar will be a sitting duck. peace

You are the first person that I recall that feels definitively that De La Hoya has absoultely zero chance of landing.. Interesting.
It was a general exaggeration to prove a point... Obviously no one can dodge everything. But can Oscar land accurately, decisively, and consistently enough to rock Mayweather and knock him off his feet? With Mayweather's smart, swift boxing style I have reason to doubt that scenario. Again, let us refer to the Mayweather-Gatti fight to see why the punching power factor isn't as much a factor as it is made out to be. A boxer beats a puncher any day of the week.

That said, Oscar is a well accomplished "boxer" himself that just happens to have the strength that Mayweather (supposedly) does not. However, Mayweathers offensive style is illusive enough to score here and there all the while not really landing anything substantial, however it is enough to appeal to the judges in addition to the factor of Mayweathers superb defensive advantage.

It should be an interesting fight no doubt, but I don't see Mayweather nor De La Hoya being knocked out. I see a Unanimous decision in favor of Mayweather in this one.

          As do I.

          Excellent clarification on the point.

I've seen some of your posts - intelligent stuff.

Indeed, they are. Oscar is no Baldomir. Floyd is no Mayorga.
Oscar is better than Baldomir. Baldomir is imposing, but Oscar has way more knockouts and much more power. Not to mention the speed factor.

If De La Hoya can land cleanly on Whitaker, I don't see how Mayweather will trouble him in that respect.

Floyd will hurt Oscar. Even if he doesn't land anything big at a time you have to understand that all those jabs and rights add up over the course of a fight. Oscar won't hit Floyd. Oscar's too slow for Pretty Boy's defense.
