Gatti-Corrales could be very good but I don't really want to see Gatti get further beaten up.

    Or Chico, for that matter.

I know a good Gatti fight: Gatti Vs Retirement. He was fully exposed by his last two fighters. Gatti was a mediocre fighter thats all, but Iguess being from NJ I guess helps.

There are many wars out there in the boxing world. The reason he was able to show us those "great fights" was because of the exposure, if he were from alabama or arkansas he wouldn't have been as known. That said I bet he loses his "last" fight

Please don't say Gatti is going to continue fighting. He must have a death wish.....

As long as Gatti is marketable I doubt he'll retire, esp if he happens to win his "farewell" fight, he'll probably keep on fighting till he gets another pbf type bludgeoning. Isn't he financing a hotel or something anyway? Guess he needs the money somehow.

The guy has always been huge for 140, even weighing in unofficially at 160 pounds after a scheduled fight at 141 seven years ago.

The reason Baldomir whipped Gatti is because he was better. He threw shorter shots that reached the mark, between Gatti's wide hooks. And Baldomir has an iron chin.
Too small is the truth my friend. Gatti's frame dosent carry 147 well, in all his fights at welter he has had trouble, De La Hoya, Hutchinson(had more to do with the 2 early headbutts than Joe's skills) and Baldomir. Even Damgaard gave him a little trouble in spots The facts r there. The guys r just too big, and Gatti's power isnt as effective

U act like Gatti is the only fighter ever to take advantage of fighting at a smaller weight. EVERY fighter does that. And as time goes on it gets harder to make that weight and they r forced to move up. Gatti started at lightweight 135 won a title then moved up to 140 and won a title and challeneged for one at 147. Look at other fighters weights, its very similiar

While it is obviously true that Gatti is a weak welterweight, Corrales is moving up a weight and will not be any better. It is difficult to move up in weight classes (as Hatton has seen), so I would give Gatti the benefit of the doubt for the fight since he has 4 fights at welterweight already.
On another note, I have heard from several sources that Al Certo will be training Arturo Gatti for his July 14th fight. I had no idea who he was, but I found out he was Golota's trainer for some time and more notably during the Golota vs. Tyson fiasco where Golota refused to come out to fight in the early rounds.
